Who rocks these? And how?

I don't myself -- and the majority of people I see here (mainly in SoHo) wearing them are the young "urban peacocks". Complete with BAPE tees, plaid shorts, Fresh Prince of Belair hats, Wizard of Oz "wicked witch" socks and Adicolor Kermits.

Maybe I'm just on the older more conservative side. ie boring

Brian SD is wearing a nice 45 RPM one in the WAYWN thread. He don't look too peacockish.

He was my inspiration. And no, he doesn't look peacockish at all.

I keep one in my back pocket most of the time--treat it like a handkerchief (so don't do this with your Dior bandana or anything, I guess) and it's really handy. Wipe off your hands, tie it around your neck if you're going to be in the summer sun for a while and want to spare your collar the sweat; I even put it up over my mouth if I'm riding my bike through the city and come across a road that's being repaved, since I'm not really a fan of inhaling dust clouds. I figure anything that's used functionally can't look too peacockish. And Brian pulls off his quite well.

thanks for the kind words. I just wrinkled it up and put it around my neck, and generally wear it with duller colors (works perfect with tan). just don't wear bandanas with a cowboy hat or other western-looking wear, or you'll really come off looking gay. also looks good inside a peacoat, worn kind of like an ascot.

Haven't rocked one since the early 80s with my "Shout at the Devil" pin, think I tied it around my knee ala Vince Neil

Not trendy, not that I know of. I've seen but one or two other guys with them.

I see it alot more than that here. And I saw Pharell wearing one in his latest video w/The Clipse. So I expect those numbers to rise.

I saw a lot of bandannas while I was in Eastern Europe this summer. Can't say I could pull off the look but all the power to those who can. On a side note, I just saw the Pharell/Clipse video. What the hell is Pharell smoking these days? His stuff for the past couple of years has been terrible...And he keeps going on about his skate boarding team....

Fully half the WAYWT pictures on Superfuture prominently feature bandanas. It's definitely trendy with a certain crowd.

hey jomak

Since you live in nyc then i have to warn you about how you wear a bandana.

That could get you fucked up in the wrong neigborhood.
Red, blue, grey, brown, lime green, olive green,(etc, nearly every color actually) is a attached to a set. If it isn't one of the regular ones with the traditional pattern then you are good, maybe.

Wow, guess I haven't been paying attention. Still. The Superfuture crowd is still 1% of people you actually see.
