Has anyone else seen the shots of Band of Outsiders S/S 2008 line on men.style.com yet? link It seems pretty bland (even more so than the current F/W line), but maybe Sternberg will come out with better looking ties this time around. And are the black and white boat shoes the only thing to come out of his collaboration with Sperry? I can't wait to see the mark-up on those...

The only thing I want is the white bowtie. He's not a designer anyway haha.

Here's a short article on the shoes: http://men.style.com/news/style/083107

The other version is going to be suede with tags on the outside of the shoe, and will also use elastic to replace the laces. Prices on them will be between $190-300. I'll pass.

I really like BoO's take on the classics. However, for the price tag, you are much better to just go for the original. I don't see BoO having enough trad cred to justify the prices for what are, after all, just basics. I much prefer something with more of a twist.

Having said that, I can't fault the design or materials. I actually picked up one of their corduroy shirts from the fall collection, and while I haven't worn it yet, I love the classic design and soft hand.

The sizing continues to surprise me. These are the smallest fits I've ever seen. I'm usually an S shirt in most lines (e.g., Engineered Garments) but am an L in BoO, at least the ones I've tried on. Definitely buyer beware on this point if your are buying over the internet. Validate the measurements.

hmmmmm.....not that hot

It looks like they're trying to ride on Thom Brown's (short) coat a bit with the jacket/shorts/tall socks/bowtie look. and I don't recall them ever hemming the trousers as high as they seem in these pics (again a la TB).

Unlike TB, BoO always had realistic photos showing their wares, as how a real person would wear them rather than a conceptual "fashion" environment, which the S/S 08 pics look to be.

I think they'd be better off not mimicking TB and sticking with an "updated classics" vibe, but I guess their ad machine thinks otherwise.

and Jet had mentioned he thought BoO changed their sizing to not be as small as he had to size down one in the F/W line of shirts, within the same body style as he previously bought

Not feeling that new collection. The F/W stuff at Barney's Coop at The Grove is pretty hot though. There's a navy wool twill jacket with a quilted lining and knit collar that I've been dreaming about since I tried it on and didn't buy it last week. I may have to bite the bullet and grab that one.

Eluxury always gets some and then charges even more for them if that interests you. I'm not sure if they have it yet. I like some of the look book stuff i've seen. Besides the staple ties and long sleeve white or blue shirts some other stuff looks nice. Shorts, short sleeve patchwork shirt, overdyed wine l/s shirt, and some more.

I slightly like this cropped jacket:

The glasses are kind of interesting as well though I daresay retro plastic frames are too plentiful these days.
