I've never seen anything like it in person. Smoke is billowing in thick pillars hundreds of feet in the air. There must be 20+ fire engines on the scene. My office is a block away.

"Baltimore firefighters were working to control a massive blaze downtown on The Block, the city's main hub of strip clubs near City Hall. "

I suppose that's one way to clean out an area.

Damn. Sounds like it started at Gaiety, which is a shame because the Hustler Club (the only worthwhile spot in B-more) is immediately next door. Would like to see pics. Could be funny to see the afternoon shift girls (read: AWFUL) out on the street in the freezing cold in their skivvies.

Say it isn't so! We've hiked through there late at night to take in the scenery (we dock for the night at the Inner Harbor on occasion). Must have been people depressed over losing to the Steelers.

It started at the Gayety Showroom which is across the street from the Hustler Club which is in the old Gayety Theater. The Hustler must have suffered major smoke damage though.

A few years ago I and a few drunk friends found ourselves "stuck" at the Hustler Club while, sheltering from pouring rain at like 2 in the morning. Best $500 I spent for a while.

Don't remember which bar it was, but my wife was with me (as well as a few other couples). Wife was totally F'ed up and in the can puking. Couple of dancers were in there getting un-dressed and ready for the pole. They offered my wife a couple lines of coke to straighten her out. Did no good at all as the bar keep booted her and the rest of us out for bringing her in there in the first place.
