OK Fellas give me the deal. I am torn between the pebble grain and calf balmoral boots pictured above, and these chukkas http://www.skoaktiebolaget.se/news/905-rain-cuero-1

I think I can wear the chukkas with a suit and they will work with jeans as well and everything in between. I have some beat up chukkas now as well, which I can rock with jeans and in between (but not a suit) because when I do wear them with jeans, it's typically to go out in places dark enough for the sentiment of 'as long as it's leather, and not a sneaker, you're good' in NYC.

SO do i get replacement chukkas and be looking good for suit-through-denim, or keep the chukkas i have for denim and some levels of in between (when they are shined and nice) and get the balmoral's for suits?

I wear suits 5 days a week btw.

Only obvious solution: Get both [IMG]

I'd have to say the bal boots, but that's because I'm just getting into this type of shoe. Also, chukkas seem to be pretty big right now (with DBs getting popular), so that may or may not influence your liking of the chukkas. Ultimately, they're both beautiful shoes.

Personally I'd go with the bals as I prefer closed lacing and think that shoes without a cap toe look slightly off. But that was, however, a pair of (for me) unusually good looking chukkas.

Someone asked the question earlier as to whether or not have a medallion on the captoe.... everyone said no.

Why not? And what about a medallion without a captoe?

You would be greatly displeasing the originator of this thread with a floating medallion.

IMO, it kind of goes against the idea of a boot. It doesn't quite look right... the paul stuart ones, for example, just look about a half step too "dandy," even for me. Although I do think a full brogue shortwing or austerity brogue shortwing works.

superfluous, along with opera pumps balmoral boots are just about the most timeless piece of footwear one can get. A medallion will look off to the many purists on SF, a kind of effected modernization of sorts.

They don't have mine either :/ Anywhere else you can buy good balmoral boots for sub $500 out there? Apparently they are going to restock my size (7UK) in the cordovan one but I want the calf with the pebble grain with the rubber sole.... hopefully meermin gets it soon!
