I like the boots. I'm not a big fan of Mantelassi but those boots look great to me.

A recent e-bay win, I'm not sure of the make and model. I know church's made an oxford called the brugges on the 73 last, though I'm not sure if these are a pair. There is a Milan mark on the insole and some indecipherable writing on the lining.

I'm going to get them re-crafted on a dainite sole (I intend to wear these and we get too many wet days here). I've not seen a balmoral boot on dainite before, I'm hoping there's no good reason for this?

Not to Hijak the thread, though I was just quoted a wait of 8 months for MTO EG Balmorals, (Jermyn St) Is this the normal turnaround?

Guess MTO? It's not one of their current stock lines. The Grenson "Tor" was a lovely boot, but it was discontinued a long time ago. Knocked spots off anything they do now.

Few pics of the Grenson "Tor", by way of comparison. Bit battered, I know.

I think they were for Paul Stuart, maybe Japan. I got them from an e-bay seller based in Northampton. They have channelled soles and the medallion with handwritten size and last set inside the boot (8139 . 257 10D).
There is no Grenson or Paul Stuart branding on the shoe, but the 10d size suggests they were for the states, as I'm a UK 9 normal / narrow and they fit well.

Tomrakewell posted photos of the same model in post number 303 on this thread (page 21 when viewing 15 posts a page).

A Top Drawer EG Shannon-Balmoral might take 8 months...but as to MTO, I was there in late Feb. 2009 and the quote was 12 weeks

I believe that Speedster posted these before, but I have some further info. According to the monthly e-newsletter that I get from JM Weston these were designed by Frank Gehry and are now available via special order (also they are available in Paris boutiques for €1,400). Any takers?
