Balani (Chicago) Groupon -- worth it?

For $617, the groupon gets you a suit, two shirts, a tie, and cufflinks from Balani in Chicago, which would normally cost $1,235. Assuming that the shirts and accessories are of at least semi-decent quality, this means that you're getting the suit for around $400-450.

There's not much about Balani on the forums. From what I've read, Balani is MTM -- not actually custom -- but with the groupon this sounds like a pretty good deal.

Thoughts?

I would also like to know! There does not really seem to be much conclusive information about any custom tailors in Chicago other than Despos. Well, I am poor! Despos is a distant dream.

Just speaking for my own experience though, I would have hesitations about the quality just because of what happens to any business when they run a Groupon....

I am surprised that Montopoli doesn't get more attention around here, especially given the shortage of bench-made clothing options in this country. I stopped in a couple of months back and Jeff was nice enough to show me around and chat a bit. He has a very cool space. The jackets he showed me that were made in-house appeared to be well made. Anyways, certainly worth a look for the Chicago folk.
