B/S issue, looking for advice

Sorry if this was posted in the wrong area. I'm looking for suggestions on how to proceed with issues concerning a purchase on B/S. I bought an item from a senior, well-established member two weeks ago and paid the same day. Shortly after payment was sent the seller sent me a pm saying the item would ship the following monday. That was the last communication I've had with him. The item has not arrived, nor did I get any indication it shipped or tracking number. I've sent several PMs and emails which have gone unanswered. The seller has no other activity on the forum during this time. It wasn't a whole lot of money so it's not like he ran away with the cash to start a new life or something. I would really like to avoid taking it to a paypal dispute. I know I have 45 days from the sale to file a paypal dispute. Would it be a good idea to wait a couple more weeks or begin the process sooner?

At this point I'm looking for any advice. I don't want to out the seller at this point in case it was just a misunderstanding or some other reason for delay. Thanks for all the help.

I agree with DocHolliday completely. I have purchased from our B&S before and have waited even up to 5 weeks for my goodies to arrive from certain of our beloved members, but arrive they always did, and it was always well worth the wait. Sometimes the excitement of a purchase and the anticipation of its arrival makes the clock tick slower while waiting. Have faith.

You can see when he was last online on his profile page. If he hasn't logged on, you can't really blame him for not answering PM's. I would file your dispute at 42 days.

Almost always it is better to email than to use the PM system here.

Thanks for all replies, they have definately eased my concerns. I have sent a few direct emails as well as PMs. I'm hoping the guy is ok. Id feel pretty bad worrying about an item of clothing if he or someone in his family had some sort of emergency.
