I have a pair of Alden X Brooks Brothers 662 Tan Tassel Loafers that are in need of resoling/etc. In looking at options, it seems there are two:

First, there is B Nelson's service seems stellar at $170 (with the JR soles)
Second, there is Alden's recrafting service at $175 (includes 'complete rebuild' and cedar shoe trees).

Any advice?

Both will be good. B Nelson will probably be much faster.

If the factory replacements are within reach, I`d opt for that - original lasts and basically a shoe back to new...

I would go with the Alden service having used both. It takes a bit longer, but I think it's worth the wait. Not a knock on Nelson at all, which is very good. Just personal preference.
