A couple of months ago I picked up a black, 3 button jacket at Kohls just because it caught my eye and I liked it. It's 100% wool in a splendid waffle weave. The drape and hand are really why I bought it since I didn't really need a black sport coat. I've worn it a few times and it really does look great.
Well, since discovering this great forum and learning a lot of the little "secrets" to discerning the construction methods of men's jackets, I decided to give this jacket the "pinch" test today just for kicks. Boy, was I surprised. Pinching it down close to the hem revealed it is very, very lightly fused. But, it has a full floating canvas chest piece. So it's a half-n-half jacket, less than $100, and from a mid-tier department store at that. Who woulda thunk it?
