AVOID Apsley Tailors/Punjab House (London/Hong Kong) - my story

Hello All,

I thought I would share my experience in my first bespoke suit and hopefully help others avoid the troubles I have gone through.

Punjab House is a bespoke tailor out of Hong Kong (known as Apsley Tailors in UK), and they were in my city so I decided to check out their roadshow. I ended up ordering my first bespoke suit from them with the hopes that I would leave OTR suits behind for good. Initially I was concerned that the salesmen were doing all the measurements and not a true tailor but I ignored by first concerns.

4 weeks later I received my suit and the fit was horrible for a bespoke suit. (the suit was too tight, the jacket pulled in the centre, and formed a hump in the back). It looked nothing like a bespoke suit that is tailored for you should look. I was shocked that they could have messed up the measurements this much but I decided to contact them to see how this could be resolved. Once i reached out to the company, no one got back to me. I was left in the dark with no way to fix the suit. Punjab house is a complete amateur operation and I would recommend you save yourself the heartache and not do business with them. If there are any issues, they will not resolve it and the quality and craftsmenship is quite poor.

Some of you may have already known not to do business with a travelling bespoke tailor house, but I was a newbie, and I certainly learned my lesson. A true bespoke suit requires multiple fittings and with a tailor you can see immediately if there are any issues...not a tailor that's half way around the world and who has no customer service standards.

Punjab House is one tailor shop to avoid...IMO

MY STORY

I bought 2 suits from apsley recently just like you have. A number of adjustments came up and none were considered by them. I emailed them regarding the problems with fit, and also send them photos, and the answer I received was a bill for alterations. Before even acknowledging the issues they quoted me a price on fixing the problems THEY are supposed to take care of. The suits did NOT fit, and the quality of service and product of Apsley are complete sh**. I am still trying to contact them as it has been one week since i requested them to take responsibility in fixing my suits, still no response. I have spent $2400 with these guys and expected bespoke, but what i got was a piece of crap. Can't wear these suits at all.

Apsley= scam + headache + fake operation

To Fellow Wearers of Bespoke

In short my experiences with Apsley Tailors/Punjab House has been nothing short of high professionalism. Both the service and the suits and associated garments I have purchased, and there have been many, are of the finest quality in bespoke tailoring.
I was referred to Punjab house from a colleague of mine in the horse racing industry around 2009 and have been a dedicated customer ever since.
I am based in Sydney, Australia but travel to Hong Kong several times a year and have experienced the full range of their services, with purchases made direct from their Nathan Road store; from their annual visits to Aus/NZ as well ordering business shirts on the internet/phone which are then couriered direct to my door.
In all cases the suits and business shirts/trousers I have custom made have ALWAYS fit me to a tee. I don't need to elaborate on the benefits of a stylish, custom made suit but I can depend on Khan and the rest of the team in HK to deliver each and every time.

I also tried this tailor, I visited them in Hong Kong and reviews I read in a local magazine. DO NOT USE THEM. they are all about taking your money and delivering cloths that do not fit, All they care about is getting your money, not about providing a quality
service. I have tried several times to get items corrected, to no avail. But recommendation STAY AWAY, you will get screwed
