Avatars & pics

Some users have brought to my attention concerns about avatars and signature pics that are outside the acceptable limits of some users. While they do not personally offend me, they are too much for the forum. Please keep your avatars and signatures to a more modest level, i.e. no drug use depicted, no barely-clothed women bouncing around, etc.

Also, if you plan to post pictures of any sort of borderline-racy stuff, please post a warning in the topic line that some may find the pictures "not work safe" (NWS). This is pretty standard for forums that have users whose children or co-workers may see what they are viewing. This is not in response to any post I can think of, but it's a good policy anyway.

I trust everyone can accept this policy to maintain the decorum of this forum and maintain a family/work-friendly atmosphere.

My apologies to anyone if my previous Avatar caused any trouble- if so it was totally inadvertant.

Same here - I was not advocating drug use, it was simply a scene from a movie I liked.

I considered that but for the moment I'll allow it. I'd prefer if people avoided garish animated avatars etc. as well but I don't mind that much. If I ever get really cranky about it I will just set the allowable file types for avatars to .jpg only and turn off tags in sigs, but hopefully the self-policing that has been this forum's standard will keep me from having to worry about it.

obviously it doesnt need to go that far, because when you brought it up those who had &quot;offensive&quot; avatars simply removed them and caused no trouble.

Actually, since I knew ahead of time that they were such great guys that wouldn't hesitate if they had instantly seen my PMs or the post, I went ahead and did it for them.
