Cost me $220 landed.
Are those dainite soles
Great price though.
Thanks all for the suggestions. I think I have a tie or two that could fit the bill, and maybe the SF Aus tie might work?
Agree about shirts that dark, which is why I thought of going open-necked. It was a freebie, and the least worst pattern they had in stock in my size.
Milan is so close to Vigevano - the city of the shoes !
Bestetti - http://www.frecciabestetti.com/
Moreschi - http://www.moreschi.it/home.htm?lingua=eng - Factory outlet very very very cheap !
Gravati - http://www.gravati.it/inglese/home1.htm
and also so close to Parabiago where you can find the factory outlet of Fratelli Rossetti - http://www.fratellirossetti.com/en/Link/
If you have time, after all the shopping, just try to go to one of the "LIBERO Milano" shop sometimes you can find high quality suits (Loro Piana/Angelico Wool) for NOTHING (EUR 200) http://www.liberomilano.it/ (check the shops location on the website)
Just let me know if you need any other tips, I'm from Milan even though I'm living in Perth
I'd certainly wear it. Also I think say Gerry's tie from today would work well too.
As an aside this is more effort than I normally put into tie matching my normal method is grab anything (that has had suffcient rest) and then reject if needed (rare).
Eta: Its one of the few cases where I think open necked would look fine.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, most appreciated. I plan to have no room for sample pope socks though, I'm afraid
They probably will just spray them instead of confesticating them, from you....
If you have a spare AUD1K+ = a nice side trip to nearby Vigevano to be fitted for a pair of bespoke Bestettis at Riccardo Freccia Bestetti's atelier.
If that is not your go... maybe a total splurge on your favourite Carminas in their store in Barthelona.
i found a store that sells Sterlingwear peacoats in Sydney.
Got a blue authentic in 36.
place is called Lawrance Ordnance. its near central. coat cost me 285.
thats reasonable considering it would cost me 300+ to get it from Sterlingwear themselves.
just thought to let you guys know since its been colder than usual recently.
^ that's a great find ... I tried ordering one from them in the US and they wanted something ridiculous for shipping
the store only carries the black authentic(38 upwards) but if you know your size and take full responsibility if it doesn't fit, then they'll gladly order one the next time they make a regular order.
it blows everything david jones and myers have out of the water. this coat is so warm. the fleece lined pockets are a haven for my cold hands
Cheers for that. I was looking for a pea coat a couple of years ago and managed to pick one up locally. Thanks for the kind offer though.
Gentlemen, what are your thoughts on braces? Are clip on braces ever acceptable?
Also, did anyone here read this in The Age today? http://www.theage.com.au/lifestyle/...eneration-stupidly-casual-20120606-1zuyw.html
Reminded me of blahman's story.
as long as it isn't this
Seriously though I think braces are fine as long as they don't look clownish. Since I hate belts I will wear braces with suits, but only underneath a waistcoat, that's just a preference.
Drakes have some nice ones.
As for the article, that'something i'm unfamiliar with. The people i know at university who are involved in politics dress conservatively for their internships/meetings etc
Love braces... Any time I can. In the process of banishing belts from my wardrobe -- any form of jacket is enough excuse for me.
No clipons. Get Thurstons direct (free shipping!). IIRC thurston makes the drakes ones too.
