Ha! I was the only one in there when I went in - maybe they offered me coffee because they were lonely and I was the first person they'd seen that week. [IMG]
You're right and I've found the forum!I was thinking this morning that there are only a bout six or seven different mens shoes and everything else is a variation on those. These are definitely different and I do appreciate they're done something new although they're not to my taste at all.

    I like that song!

Cheers, yes it always gets a lot of compliments.

Thanks also, it's nice isn't it. Just wait till you see the purple grenadine sample coming next week with the members ties. 7 fold, un-tipped, hand rolled edges.... Going to be special.

And you cant miss them blahman...the way they hover and linger around you the whole time your there is so off putting. Maybe its just me, perhaps I look like a hobo!!! Hahaha. However, Harrolds will never be as bad as Xile in Brisbane. They are excruciatingly poor at service and hovering over you.

I think the guys in Richards and Richards do it well. They seem genuinely interested and authentic in their approach. Would also add American Tailors to this category too. Knowledgeable and authentic, something others would be good to learn. I asked a fellow in Mitchell Ogilvies the other day if they had any Grenadine ties, was told what they had out was what they had and for me to have a look through. I asked him did he know what a grenadine tie was....do I need to tell you what the response was??? Didnt think so. Looks like an order with Henry C is well overdue. Am waiting for Burgundy to arrive and will snaffle a navy too.

Personally I like the David Jones approach....not a SA in sight. Suits me I know what I want and am well aware of my size.

Pretty Asian girl following you around in a very subservient manner and looking eager to please you?

Very Funny B. Happened to me last week in Hermes, next to R&R. Lots of nodding and smiling faces.

I'm sure most have noticed the overrepresentation of pretty Asian SAs at boutiques like LV, Prada and Gucci as well :p

No doubt that's why people are queueing up to get inside.

I have a black tie event coming up in 2 months time, I'm unsure of how im going to dress good enough with out having to purchase a dinner suit (i dont have 1200+ dollars [IMG]). What would be close to acceptable to wear?
I own a business suit, a casual suit and a blazer and dont mind buying something else within my budget.

The only requirement is that you wear some sort of suit and you wear a tie that is black.

What you should wear to follow proper black tie dress is another matter altogether.

Sam the shoe polisher in the Rialto told me that he can mirror shine shoes but they would need to be left with him overnight. Not sure how much he charges but it's more than $10.

I know that some of you were looking for a service like this so if you do go down that route, let us know how it goes.

On another note, it looks like R&B knitwear is 50% off - at least in their shop near the Rialto. I didn't go in to check - just saw it as I was passing..
