Many years ago I worked in the restaurant at a golf course (Emerald), and we'd just had new pavers laid out the back. There was a bucks night there that evening, and a guy rarfed on the pavers. You could still see where they'd been bleached by the stomach acids >12 months later....

    Sh*t.

Great story - pity about your suit.

Now I'm even more worried about mine.

I don't care about the smell - that is easily fixed, its the chance of permanent stains that is concerning me.

I guess I just have to wait until I pick the suit up tomorrow night to see if I just wasted my favorite and newest suit...

I don't know if a typical shoe shine place would offer something like that. You could always ask around though.

Christian is considering offering this as a paid service, I believe. I"d be up for that.

I've told him a number of times that he should do shoe polishing tutorial sessions - I'm sure a number of people would sign up.

The one I picked up was in great condition, ill post pics later.

It didn't fit me but I couldn't let it go for $14 (steep for an oppy but it was on chapel street) and I'd like to see it go to a group of guys that would appreciate it.

PM me if your interested first to make contact me gets it

A mate of mine barfed on the vinyl tiles in his college at Uni. Similar results. Some powerful acids in the human stomach.

    Morning Gents,

This is a little more toward those who own Chester Jefferies gloves (or those who wish to) -
My 'bespoke' Statesman gloves arrived last week, and while they fit a little looser than I was expecting (and would have liked), I was pretty happy with them. However the seam on the RHS thumb has been bugging me lately, as it runs along the side of the thumb and across the middle of the pad of my thumb - it only looks odd when I'm wearing them, not when they are sitting on the table.

It seems (heh) unreasonable to put this down to a quirk of a custom, handmade product, but can I expect the seam to flatten over time, or should I be contacting CJ and looking at solutions that way?

On the contrary, my friend! I laugh at those who pay $600 for a merino jumper.

That HCl is some mean stuff, bro.

And those Herring Shakespeare 2 is some ugly pair of shoes. I wouldn't touch it with a cattle prod. That dissuade you enough? Actually, who the hell am I kidding. Those look great. I've been holding off dub monks for a long time now - don't want to become another SF cliche.

I am pretty sure they can be sent back to be reconditioned, since Herring can just send the shoes back to whoever made them. Herring orders from Loake and Cheaney I believe and those dub monks look like Cheaneys.
