Yes, he was really thrilled when I showed them to him yesterday. He's the one who taught me how to get that shine and I am forever grateful to him for that.

Those are the shoes I took back to Malaysia for my cousin's wedding and my father and cousins were dead impressed with the shine. I don't think they'd actually seen one like that in real life.

it had no brand, just a label that said "Melton Pea Coat Navy # 5459". size is 34.

I usually go for 36 in jackets.

    YES DRAKES

    :D

Ok, not Drakes, but squares of silk with designs printed on them. The PJohnson squares are very cool, to be sure, but too pricy for me.

Might be worth checking out the sole nail pattern thread to work out who makes the Canali shoes.

Also, I don't know if this applies to hankies since I don't wear them, with silk ties it is usually pretty easy to tell poly from silk for me.

Normally, silk ties of the same size should feel a bit heavier than the poly ones. On touch they have a drier crispier feel. Scrunching knit ties up should feel a bit crunchy. Similarly rubbing two pieces of silk together would give a fairly distinct, for lack of better word, 'squeakiness' that you don't get with poly fabric.
