1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Love Rhodes & Beckett's advertising. Their 'up to 50% off' (the 50 in huge letters) sale has a few ties at that discount level, everything else on much smaller discounts as far as I can see. It always staggers me when marketing people don't seem to recognise the ill will they generate by poor expectation management.

Well said, lennier! I think the majority of people go in during the warehouse sale, don't they? To me, that's a proper sale, not the promotions they have in the meantime.

I like them. Like them so much that I actually bought a pair. I got mine new from yoox for the same price that seller is asking, keep that in mind.

Van Laack also owns Herringbone so hopefully the style there will flow through to R&B.

As Gerry said, Van Laack owns Herringbone.

However, the Harrolds people (Theo Poulakis etc) own Rhodes & Beckett, don't they?

I remember back when R&B opened up (and I think that some of their stores were former "Harrolds Shirts" stores, from memory), they had an interior fit-out that waffled on about their faux provenance, about how they were supposedly created by a couple of British gents in Egypt in the 19th century who decided to make shirts and so they started up the venerable house of Rhodes & Beckett. The advertising waxed lyrical about the wonders of Egyptian cotton and had photos of what looked like the foyer of Shepherd's hotel, palm trees and the Nile River.

Then, after about two years, they changed all their manufacturing from Egypt to China. So much for the romantic backstory of Mr Rhodes and Mr Beckett!! :rotflmao:

A fully floating high quality horse-hair canvas combined with a luxurious super 130 fabric would allow TBM's attire to mold itself superbly to the contours of the car's bodywork, leaving no visible indentedness. Had he been wearing some fused chinese rubbish the car would be a write-off.

Lennier, I would've dented the car pretty badly. No horsehair canvas, today I'm in denim and sneakers - a regular day in the advertising industry.

Although, my CDW puffer could have possibly spared me, an airbag if you will..

I'd say the hair on the guy you were walking with would have protected anyone within about a 5 metre radius :)

HAHA, his name is actually Mike D (no kidding). His wife has asked him for 10+ years to get rid of his (ridiculous) sideburns, and he refuses.

    He wrote this ad:

Everytime I take a walk through DJs I end up liking jimmy choos a little bit more. Don't know why. The pair of monk strap desert boots tobacco suede just looks better and better.
