I am in the same boat I got ill last year and was not able to exercise for four months, and also being the owner of a Black Dog my metabolism slows right down when the mongrel starts barking.

I was able to start exercising again late last year and found that with a lot cardio and weights I was able to shed a lot of weight quickly and then came to a grinding halt, while my fitness improved the weight loss didn't happen. Very annoying.

I still have to lose weight off the stomach area before I can say I am comfortable with what weight I am and it actually stabalises for a while before I go MTM or Bespoke.

I think that stablising your weight its useful to look at portion size and consider eating smaller portions on a regular basis during the day.

Another thing is that Canberra has no decent Op Shops I don't think I have found any thing decent in the times I have looked in them in the past six years.

Thanks, Jason. They're beautiful shoes and deserve some better photos.

Gents, need some feedback, as I am having a bit of brain cloud today; does this combo work? Yay or Nay? I wanted to marry the tie up to something other then a white pocket square - this is the best I could come up with.

Looks nice to me, the gold in the pocket square picks up the gold in the crest and green and gold are an Australian classic. The lighter colour of the suit and shirt help. Wear it with confidence and pride.

Still liking that cashmere tie. Looks beautiful. Is that a FIH though? The knot looks pretty big...

This, to me, is what it all boils down to. Luca Rubinacci and Andre 3000 of Outkast are two of my favourites because they wear their clothes with aplomb. Don't worry about it CHECKstar. You look good.

Yep, works for me. I'm not normally a fan of ties with crests like that but this looks good.

Thanks for the feedback – To my eye the combo worked when I pulled it together this morning, but I am always somewhat cautious with that square, given how infrequently I pair it up with anything.

Thanks, this was just an early pre production sample so I have tweaked a few things in it. The knot IRL is no bigger than my other ties, it just knots a bit different due to the material but should be slightly smaller for production, though we will have to see when they arrive. It is a FIH.

I'll be getting a very small first run of 4 only in a few weeks hopefully, which I will offer first up to the Aus members, second on the affiliate thread and then if there are any left on the website, but I will also have a bigger run of 16 due in July too . Anyway will keep peoples interest noted for when they arrive, there will be a few other knit ties as well.

^ I was about to say that tie knot looked like a Pratt Knott but there we go. That discussion about suiting and weight issues reminded me about http://www.bluespinach.com.au/aboutus.aspx they are well worth having a look at in terms of quality second hand suits.

I know spring is months away but H&K sent out this morning a flyer about their new spring and summer collection might be just the thing to brighten up a drab grey cold winter.

Good luck, I'm pretty sure I've heard the black dog barking at my back door a few times over the last few years.

Replace those shields with a little yellow wombat in a top hat and you are ready to roll.
