So I picked up a pair of light grey flannel cargos for all of $50 at the Herringbone Warehouse!! - They very similar to these epaulet ones.

I didn't put much thought into how they would fit into my wardrobe really and just bought them based on price (probably a dumb move - but they were exceptional value).

Anyway - I'd love some thoughts on what shirt combinations I can wear with these - I felt plain white was a bit washed out (and I rarely wear white as it is because of my light complexion).

I tried a strongish blue poplin but thought the poplin smoothness didn't go too well with the wintery texture of the flannel.

Would a blue twill be more suitable suitable? Otherwise - what weave?

I don't mind what the model (if you can call him that) in the picture is wearing but I also don't mind the combination either.

Saw those when I was in Sydney the other week - the material was lovely but the pockets put me off!

Re Herringbone cargo's - Hopefully they will have some of them when I get up there in a few weeks time. I'd wear them different to the epaulet guy above though. Would wear on winter weekends with Chukka's and knitwear and maybe a down vest over if really cold. Also with an oxford like Toby said, but probably layered with a v-neck.

I seem to be always asking for help in this thread, but here goes again...

I'm looking at buying a nice leather folder/folio for a birthday present. It's next week, so I'll probably have to buy local although if there are some nice ones to be had online, the wait will probably be worth it.

It's actually for a girl who will be heading to her first professional job interviews soon, so I was thinking a brown rather than a black.

Does anyone know of a physical store in Melbourne or an online store that will ship here with a good selection?

The budget is <$100, and just looking a the Hunt leather ones (http://www.huntleather.com.au/business/document-cases.html) I am wondering if I am being too optimistic in thinking I can find a nice one in that price range...

You mean that you have failed to appreciate the intricate beauty of a close up of a half consummed flat white? Philistine! There is infinite variety and wonder to be found in the cup rings and intricate patterns slowly disolving milk spume.

He has had a lot going on in his life according to his blog. I believe he fell off his bike and broke his elbow. Which has gotta hurt - but everyone was amazed that he required no pain relief. He also bought a souped up FIAT cinquecento. Oh - and he has been chosing fabric to commission a custom made sling from P Johnson (though I assume this last point to be a joke).

    Morning Gents,

I was just made aware of a free shipping code for Mr Porter. I thought some of you may find it of use.

    MRPORTEROYSTER

    Valid until 6 May.

    Cheers!

Am I alone in finding this sort of tie totally unappealing?:
