I just visited Fratelli Paradiso and saw two Pitti Peacocks. Interestingly, I don't often notice this manner of dress in NYC. Perhaps they are more noticeable in Sydney because the style of dress is a greater contrast than in NYC.

What in gods name is a 'Pitti Peacock'? I know that Fratelli Paradiso is a haunt for 'yummy mummies' but this is a new sub clan altogether.

I wouldnt be too surprised if it was Patrick Johnson + company you saw, but if not yeah it's probably the contrast between them and the mass of hipsters that hang around Potts Point these days. I must say though I rate Fratelli Paradiso very highly though, the owner used to come in and spend up all the time when I worked at Robby Ingham.

^^ Allow me, I speak Menswear.

A 'Pitti Peacock' is a man who attends menswear trade show Pitti Uomo dressed in an eye-catching (and to some, over the top) clothing ensemble, with the probable intention of getting noticed, admired and photographed by style bloggers.

Phat Guido seems to frequent Fratelli Paradiso. Seriously, does that guy do anything but drink coffee?

Sometimes I wonder what a lot of SFs like Phat Guido do. Always seem to eat, drink and take a lot of photos/videos of themselves.

A descendent of the Flaneur or Dandy, makes sense.

Wouldn't have been PG, he's dressing backwards in years now he's at apple. Last year was all about grown man style, this year it's about cycling socks with suit trousers and sneakers.

I must say I've been riding bikes for a long time, and drink a lot of coffees to go with it, but have never felt the need to take a photo of one. Flat whites and vegemite on toast looks the same to me every week.

Day 5: Not particularly creative, but I'm exhausted, even after a weekend of recuperating. Did finally put a good shine on the shoes, though.

Wow, did I miss a lot. I've spent a large proportion of today catching up on 200+ posts while I was away overseas. I actually read every single post! :slayer:

If anyone is interested, I have a pair of Uniqlo trousers in 32-33x34 for sale (100% cotton, light olive green in colour), and some brand new 8.5E UK suede C&Js. Please PM me!

I cant put my finger on it but everytime I see your stuff I think IVY. Its a good way to go and not enough people do it. The opposite of the Pitti look. It seems to me like you lean that way yourself - something in your style.

have a squiz at this bloke - nice a simple, boring even but neat, smart, casual even business like if you want with just an added jacket and knit or rep tie.

I'm thinking some white 5 pocket straight leg jeans, DBs or brown longwing brogues or burgundy tassled slip ons plus a blue or striped OCBD and a jacket.

    Jacket ??

Does anyone know if leather shoes might be held up going through customs?

I bought a secondhand pair over two weeks ago and they still havent arrived. I should have suggested registered mail but it slipped my mind...
