I'm looking for a couple of things, any ideas would be great:

    1. decent wooden cufflinks storage box, capacity of 20ish nothing obscenely priced though.

    2. gloves - probably in a nice brown leather. Again, budget is <$150 and preferably <$100. Melbourne just doesn't get enough days cold enough to justify expensive gloves (although these last few days have been sinfully cold).

A few sites I have found while searching: http://www.chesterjefferies.co.uk/Scripts/default.asp, http://www.madova.it/negozio/en/

Chester Jefferies do MTM gloves for a pretty decent price. Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

Just for alterations, or for having things made up?

Most of the info in this thread is still relevant. The only change to this is that I'm not sure George at R&R is doing alts on things that aren't bought there as his workload is pretty high at the moment. I'll confirm this next time I'm at work though.
Avoid Tikk Takk, the woman there is batshit insane(don't ask), and is quite expensive.

    Needs more Monocle.

I have two pairs of Chester Jefferies gloves and I think they're great value. I didn't do the full MTM with a hand profile, just standard design custom sized, but depends how 'normal' your hand proportions are I would think as to whether the full custom option is necessary. It's very cheap either way. Nicely made custom gloves for less than generally inferior stuff off the shelf out here. Great people to deal with too.

    Agree with Naka.

George at Richards & Richards isn't really able to take on outside work at present due to the amount of in-house stuff that he has to do.

I think that Regent Tailors (is that the name?) is good.

As mentioned in the other thread, stay away from Doree.

Agree with Journeyman. Doree not up to scratch and very overpriced - $30 to take a pir of trousers up with protection strips.

For alterations, have been using Orchid Alterations, above Country Road in Queen Street, in the old NAB Bank Building. Small operation, but what they did on my Navy Linen Suit was excellent and it was a significant job.
