How many guys here own a dinner suit?

I have a venue in mind where we could do a sit down dinner in a private function room so I'll explore some options and get back to everyone, but it looks like the minimum number to make this a go would be 15.

Do any of you guys with Viccel experience know the approximate length difference between their regular and OTC socks? I can't find that info anywhere. I wear my pants with no break so I'm a little worried the regular length will result in my leg showing when sitting down. I think OTC would be a bit long for my tastes though.

    OTC is amazing.

I'd like them a touch longer but I'm tall (2m) and too cheap for MTM socks.

My Viccel order arrived today, after around 8 business days. I ordered the size 10-11.5's in the Winter Weight, and the OTC models were approximately 26 inches long, with the mid calf measuring 18. I think they're an absolute bargain for the price, they look and feel great.

Just got a reply from Pepe at Meermin. They've stopped mail orders for a while due to demand. I guess I'll wait to see what their online store looks like.

SF strikes again. I wonder if many of these smaller operations expand their facilities and subsequently run into financial difficulty when SF gets bored of the latest Flavour of the Month.

Guys I received this email from Pepe @ meermin just now, so looks like anyone who doesn't already have an order in/pending is out of luck for a while until the web store is up. Bummer. Not too much of an issue for me as I don't need my next pair till march next year.

    Hi Jason,

First of all, thank you for your interest in Meermin.

    - We are currently working on the launch our online shopping service for our website:  www.meermin.es
    - Due to the big amount of orders received in the last month we are not taking more mail orders, because our factory is currently overloaded.
    - We will contact you back when mail orders will be taken again.

    We hope you will understand.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your interest.

    Best regards,

    Pepe Albaladejo - Meermin Mallo

I've got a few of their things, but overall I prefer Uniqlo for clothes. Uniqlo's basics such as t-shirts, colourful cotton socks, underpants, polo shirts and jeans are great and they just happen to fit me well. Unfortunately, they don't ship overseas so I have to wait until I'm in Japan to pick up another batch of Uniqlo goodness...

Mooning around the 3rd floor at Bourke St DJs today. Saw a nice Paul Smith London suit in a grey POW check for about $350-400. A 42L but a slm cut, so could suit a 40L.

Good prices to be had on some Canali suits - prices now almost down to Azzaro's regular Canali prices.

Tempted by a couple of Thomas Pink shirts around $60, but resisted. Since when are these made in Vietnam?

Actually found a nice Heringbone suit in my size, but they'd lost the pants. Sheesh.

Is a dinner suit a must? Don't own one at the moment and it is way down the bottom of my list of things to buy, right below the FU purple velvet tassel loafers.

And as I have mentioned couple of days ago, DJs are in so much strife some of their stuff are becoming worth a look now.
