Okay its come to the stage where my shoes badly need resoling. I remember somebody on here saying there's only a handful of places in Australia that can probably resole goodyear welted shoes. I live in Sydney and the shoes are a pair of Loake 1880's, what's the best option? I'm thinking Coombs in the Strand Arcade may be able to stitch, rather than glue, a new sole on, or am I going to have to wear the cost of sending them back to the UK?

I say just buy new pair off Herring or Pediwear, unless you really love this particular pair due to some sentimental value or a model no longer available. Resoling is not cheap, not perfect and for a pair of Loakes it's more trouble than its worth methinks.

Once you get your new shoes, slap on some Topy and your shoes will live forever, unless of course you prefer not to have Topy.

    Good to know

Haha, I shouldn't of said it was a rule, more of a preference. Most of the casual clothes I own are made in china, but I always try to buy clothes that aren't whenever I can, or whenever my budget allows :)

That's right. While I was at it, I bought another one 1 size smaller, and am trying like hell to diet down into it.

If it's a 36, I'll gladly take that cursed item off you so you don't have to suffer through dieting and of course you get 100 to enjoy more food with. :D
