Good luck with the run Bman, I'm doing it too (and also not making it tonight).

Thanks for the shout out. I did approach a number of well known brands to carry socks when initially doing research, not Breciani but Marcoliani was one and was surprised to hear they "are not accepting any new account in our region" there words not mine. I though considering the state the economy is in Italy and that i'd be paying up front they would take as much business as they could get. Anyway in the end Pantherella is a great fit for me, they have an Australian distributor which makes things very easy and importantly for me don't use any 3rd world labour for manufacturing.

Was just in the shoe section at DJ's, and there was a very loud couple chatting about a pair of shoes the guy was buying - some horrendous pointy toed stripy patent leather things. He was commenting that they were "a bit over the top for wearing to work every day, but once they've scuffed up a bit from wearing on the tram they should be OK"..... sigh...

While I was there I bought a pair of brown suede Pirelli driving shoes I'd seen a while back for $425.... in the clearance bin for $85 :)

Also bought a Thomas Pink evening shirt which included the studs, for about $70 down from $230. I think I've mentioned it before, but we have a work awards dinner in a couple of months time which is supposed to be black tie, and I'm making a concerted effort this year to do proper black tie, since hardly anyone does it properly at it. (though knowing my luck, this year they'll probably make it casual)

^ Also popped into DJs over lunch and picked up a couple of wool, v-necks from John Smedley for about $87 each. Heaps left too.

I'd guess DJ's might have Marcoliani locked down, but it's just a guess.

Yes I did think that DJ's might play a part in it. Anyway I can special order OTC for you with about 6 weeks notice and 6 pair min per colour in anything from the Pantherella range. I may get a few in stock on my next order too.

Great site and well done. Will be ordering a few pairs of socks shortly, and the scarves look well too.
