Saw an ad for the Punk Poet Laureate John Cooper Clarke playing in Sydney but WTF is he doing playing in Cronulla, getting a bit tired of Canberra not being on the touring radar. Now where did i put my Docs?

Just a reminder for tomorrow's catch up. Hope you all can make it!

Ok, guys, looks like there's a lot of interest in a Melbourne gathering of sorts.

What say we meet up at 6:30pm this Thursday, 29 March at Jwow Wine Bar, QV 243 Little Lonsdale Street next to the entrance to Strike on the corner of Lt Lonsdale and Swanston Streets?

If you can make it then great(!) otherwise, we'll have another catch up in a couple of weeks.

I got some decent knitwear last year from Bossini, of all places - got a few woolen v-necks that have held up pretty well. I got a few John Smedley v-necks from eBay as well. Just recently, I got a couple of Hackett shawl collar cardigans - one from Jules B and another from a seller on eBay. Both brand new for about UKP80 each because they were being sold as end of season stock (they're selling for $420 in DJs). Also got a super-warm Aran sweater off eBay courtesy of the eBay Round Up from Put This On.The nicest one I have is a secondhand blue cashmere Brooks Brothers v-neck sweater off eBay - feels beautiful.

This looks like pretty decent knitwear as well.

Thanks Gerry, looks like there is some good stuff.

Anyone have experience with this Scottish Collection mob and can comment on their quality? An example here.

henry bucks had some really nice stuff reduced at their sale last time. 200 and up though, some cucinelli cashmere thrown in for good measure. i imagine theyre at the clearance shop now.
otherwise go online. most of my stuff is from uniqlo. merino jumpers and cardigans were 20 pounds. cashmere i paid around 40-50 pounds. youll have to use a proxy to get uniqlo stuff though.
also, SF affliliate http://www.virtualclotheshorse.com/ has a good deal on drumohr cashmere at the moment.

Avoid the Henry Bucks labelled knitwear, its rubbish. Pilled before the end of first winter on three different jumpers. From memory these were $260 plus jumpers. Thing to remember with all wool/cashmere is that you get what you pay for, unless from HBs, then you dont.

Got to assume the Kiwis know their stuff when it comes to woolly jumpers.

On this point by Selvaggio, IceBreaker is doing some innovative, perhaps less classic, knitwear that is good quality. I have had several pieces over the years, all with stood punishing treatment and each year I pull them out and they as good as new.
