Yeah, I know - only noticed afterwards [IMG]. The photo was taken when I went to collect the suit. I was wearing a jumper when I went there and took it off to see the fit for the jacket - hence the collar area, Toby.

    Nice suit, Gerry.

Don't take this the wrong way, but your hands look really creepy in that pic!

Only time for a quick close up today. Some good discussion yesterday about the Wiki. Anyone put any entries in yet? And nice suit Gerry, throw in a pair of nice sleeker oxfords and your on a winner (I know you were just trying it on).

Jason, I love the colours! I see a purple grenadine tie in my future.

Sleeker oxfords would be good with the PJ suit - I can see it going well with suede as well. I wanted a suit that I could separate - the blue jacket/grey trousers look really does it for me and I also don't have a pair of blue odd trousers. I think this suit will be used in a multitude of ways and I'm looking forward to playing around with it over the next few weeks.

For summer, I plan to wear it with suede loafers and no socks to pretend I'm at Pitti. [IMG]

Yeah works great with brown suede Gerry - I find my tobacco suede semi brogues a bit too light and im not brave enough to pull it off but chocolate brown dubmunks teamed up well. Ill take a pic

Yes, please do. Coincidentally, I'm actually wearing the tobacco suede semi-brogues today.

    Nice one, Gerry!

What sort of trimmings did you opt for when ordering your first PJohnson MTM?

Thought some of you might appreciate this glimpse of vintage fashion from England in the early 1940s:

The couple getting married are my grandparents. I particularly like my grandmother's rakish hat and my great-uncle's (second from left) trousers. Think he was a pretty stylish young guy at the time.

Don't know if anyone saw the Australian today, but they are doing some article tomorrow or on the weekend about "Australia's most stylish man" Charlie Pickering"... Apparently he is "effortlessly stylish"...

Thanks! I ended up ordering a 3 roll 2 blue suit in Loro Piana Zelander Flower s120 3 ply weave indigo and myrtle berry with padded shoulders, side adjusters + internal brace buttons and burgundy lining.

Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of detail - I wanted the cut, fit and material to speak for itself and my understanding is that the first MTM suit will very rarely be exactly right. I just ordered their basic configuration so no hand finishing.

I'm going to wear the suit over the next couple of weeks to see if any adjustments need to be made but my impression from wearing it yesterday was that it was one of those things I might forget I was wearing if you know what I mean - it was pretty comfortable!
