And, as usual, the utter cluelessness displayed in the comments makes me despair for the future of the country. I must stop reading them. I wonder how people so apparently ignorant of almost everything somehow have complete confidence in their opinions.

No idea which comments you're referring to, but that is a great line!

Anyone in Melbourne want to do a catch up in a couple of weeks time?

Just dropped off $600 worth of tailoring at Katrinas... Then got a 60$ parking fine... Ugh.

Just went for the first fitting at p Johnson. Missus likes the suit so much she wants me to wear it to the wedding, which means I can't wear it for 6 months...

You're lucky. They had no openings when I tried to book from Tues-Fri. Have to wait til they come to Adelaide.

Think that was just bad luck, as I think they were in Brisbane last week (see their Tumblr site). I am booked in for Wednesday to pick up a shirt I had made for my wedding. Looking forward to it. Might be the last commission for a while...

I have checked the J crew aust website. What a load of bull. Prices marked up to at list 30%. Our $ is even stronger than usd. Some US retailer think they could just rob us Aussies as the Americans are flat broke.
Also when buying from from us few sites offer prices in AUD where if you pay using USD on your CC the price is cheaper by at least 5-7%. Most retailers using Fiftyone for international orders allows paying with currency of choice.

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is ok or not but seeing as how it's the Aussie's thread I thought someone might be interested in a whole bunch of clothes I'm getting rid of because they no longer fit:

If this is not cool please let me know and I'll remove this post!!

    Cheers

Ok, looks like we have at least four people including myself. What day suits everyone best?

Say a Thursday right after work? It'll be nice to catch up for an hour or two right after work and have an early night - the way I see it, we can catch up and still get home a a reasonable time so as to keep the peace at home (if that applies) [IMG] Anyone who wants can stay on and go till dawn [IMG]

The Herringbone evening was great but I've got no idea when the next one will be. I'd like to make this informal and flexible so that we can do this on a semi-regular basis.

    Thoughts?

    Dear Lluvia,

Thank you for the prompt response. Based on your comments, I think I shall buy from your website, enjoy the slight discount afforded by our strong currency at the moment, then use shipito.com or a dozen other similar forwarding services to get my products from your US site.

While your generous offer for free shipping is tempting, I think I might take a $30 hit on shipping it from the US myself and just settle for the 30% discount of your Australian site prices.

    Thanks again for nothing.

    Kind regards,
    Aussie men
