Harrolds 50% Off Sale starts tomorrow - that should make them only 10% over-priced

could be good for a laugh, considering the demographics that salivates over ozbargains (and the various group buying sites) would see the prices and think they MUST be getting a bargain....

...to paraphrase what someone once wrote of jewellers in various Westfields "They're selling a $10 item for $100 after marking it down from $300"

What kind of people shop at harrolds anyway? I remember browsing once and seeing this guy in his early 20s buying a suit with his parents and yelling at them to leave him alone and to let him buy whatever he wanted with what I'm guessing was his parents' money. I think that's the only person I've ever seen buying anything in there.

Also the Sydney shop has been a lot less nerveracking ever since they employed a very nice Asian woman

High end stores tend to be as nerve racking as if I were to go into a womens store. I swear the SA can detect I'm a tyre kicker as soon as I set foot in them.

My wife's boss shops at Harrolds. He's a partner at one of Australia's biggest law firms.

Last time I went tyre kicking at Harrolds I had the pleasure of a beautiful Latin American sales assistant helping me try on a Tom Ford tuxedo.

At the last sale they had some completely ridiculous Tom Ford white and black houndstooth suit in my size for just over $2000. I might pop in to see if it is still on the sale rack.

Good afternoon fellow SFers.

As promised (albeit unsolicited) here are some of my other items that are available. There are a couple of camel overcoats, some navy suits, some odd trousers and a pair of Derek Rose pyjamas (sorry Blahman, I think they might be too big).

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/pinksocks8/m.html

Please take a look and let me know if you want any more details etc.

Also Charlie's Wardrobe (and anyone else), if you spot, one of the probably thousands of, spelling mistakes let me know and I will try to correct (and be sincerely grateful).

Imagine if it was Myer and not Harrolds. Then remember how annoying it was having your parents pushing ugly jumpers your way and giving really bad opinions when you had to go shopping with them. But throwing a tantrum is for 5 year olds.

That sounds like an awesome FU suit for that special FU occasion.

It is Private but I wouldn't pay any notice to that

BTW, Harrolds stocks some great brands despite their markups, Common Projects, Naked and Famous, thru to Tom Ford and Caruso, check out their clearance store at Crown Casino for better discounts tho

My main gripe with Harrolds has been clueless Sales Assistants that want to close a sale not give you sound advice

I agree. Some of the 'advice' I've had at that store beggars belief.
