1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Stop being such a bunch of pansies, put it on the front ala Marinella and be proud of your affiliations!

Ventured into another Sirrico store during lunch and notice a few well priced ($200) leather bags. One particular one is from a brand called San Babila. Anyone know much about them? Always a little bit iffy about obscure Italian brands.

Afraid I'd have to vote for hidden personally. Doubt I'd wear something with it visible unless it was extremely subtle. Of course depending on the tie I may never wear it anyway :) Perhaps to maximise potential wearers it could be something like a special edition of the classic navy grenadine or similar staple (although I assume embroidery on a grenadine is probably not possible?).

Agreed with first part, doubt I would be interested in one with something visible.

Thought you would be put forward the case for burgundy? Was actually going to nominate you as the person to speak about Charlie's Wardrobe about this.

I am guess the options really fall to what Henry Carter can get created and what Australian Members actually show an interest in buying. Make sure you PM Charile's Wardrobe so he can gauge interest and sort.

    Hey guys,

I'll get back with more info over the weekend but yeah basically it will need to be a fabric that can be embroidered easy, so i'd recommend a plain twill like the Armoury has done, maybe in a navy, burgundy or a dark green could be nice as well. I'll do a few mock ups anyway.

Placement will be hidden, on the front of the blade seems to be the best position so far. I'll come up with a few different designs for the actual embroidery.

Pricing will hopefully be similar or the same as it is now. $79.95 if classic construction or $99.95 if it is a 7 fold but we need to decide on the embroidery, because the more stitches it has, the more it costs.

There will need to be a 30% deposit for those who are in, but this can be sorted out down the track once everything is decided.\

I've got 5 confirmed as interested so far, so keep the PM's coming. Thanks everyone who has pm'd.

    Cheers
    Jason

Well the burgundy 'official' tie only came about because I noticed that many members including myself happened to end up buying one at one of the R&B sales, so it was an opportunistic declaration rather than a case of strong advocacy for a burgundy tie :)

Completely agree with this. I feel that if we all meet up wearing ties with an Australian flag, we run the danger of people believing we work for the tourism board.

If you do want one, you can get it here or here [IMG]

Should be able to find a Herringbone or Paul Smith suit around that price, if you're lucky with sizes.

Yes there is no other store like David Jones, was in Sydney yesterday so went into DJ at Bondi Junction to check out the sale, hmmm, a few things caugth my eye but I was taken by the selection of jeans compared to Canberra, great I think, I should be able to ge myself a pair here and so as I look i notice that with all the brands the size only goes up to 38 WTF? As first I think I am mistaken but i went through the racks yes indeed only to 38, FM what is going on here.

So I asked a staff member in the section and yes that's right we only carry stock to 38 so if you want larger sizes you go into the city.

What sort of makreting move is this? Has DJ decided that the male population of the Eastern Suburbs are all buff fit trim males who stop wearing jeans once their waist goes beyond a certain size and so are no longer worth providing product too?. FUBAR I say.

    Today's trousers and shoes:

    Trousers: Uniqlo vintage chinos
    Shoes: C&J Coniston

What I'm liking about these is that they could also pass off as cap toe derbies as well.

That's bad luck. There were quite a few PS London suits at 50% off at DJs Melbourne his week.
