1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Just took delivery of these, from AFPOS

    A steal at $150 shipped.

Not sure I'd call them burgundy, more a very dark brown, with a reddish tinge. They fit well enough, although I'll have to wear thick socks. Still, I bought them for winter, so that's OK.

Only a day of the month display. Still a PITA to reset them every other day. I end up not wearing them at all.

    That's unbelievably good! Congratulation!

Depends on your office environment. What's yours like? If you really love them then get them and wear them on weekends if they don't fit in your office.

    Lieeeeees!

I've seen someone wearing them in the office before. He also wears Jos A Banks suits. So now I assume anyone who wears tassel loafers to be a Merkin.

    fxh,
He wants tassels, I'm selling penny loafers - not sure how you see a conflict of interest there.

In a country where the norm seems to be square-toed monstrosities cladding the feet of otherwise well-dressed men, is a nice pair of tassel loafers really all that bad especially if the man really loves it?

It's the perception of a conflict of interest that matters.

Yeah, right! I'm truly confused. [IMG]

    This was the question:
    This was my answer:

Quote: I happen to have a pair of my loafers for sale. How is there even a perception of conflict of interest? I think that's a pretty big stretch and I'd be genuinely surprised if .

That's like saying saying that ColdEyedPugilist (for example) shouldn't give an answer like I did if the original poster asked about Drake's ties just because CEP happens to be selling one.

    :smarmy:

On tassel loafers, I always thought those things are too old-man-ish especially with more traditional styling, calf leather and welted, unless you go all out with it (not with number of tassels like Louboutins mind you).

I mean something thats really FU like these:

And if worn without socks fxh will wet himself with excitement.

Wait, hold on, I bought a couple of Drakes ties from CEP....did he con me into it? Do I really want them...?

GN, I hear you but think you goodyear welted shoe clad leg was being pulled. Actually think a person selling loafers (esp. one with your integrity) should be in a position to advise on the topic (even if they have/do not have tassels) as it might give the questioner as cheap good quality option - like your Churchs (trying to help you out here Gerry).

The Aus Members thread is a helpful place. That said, I think I might report CEP to the Consumer Watchdog...

At least he is not trying to poison us with propaganda for the sock industry...

And Charlie's Wardrobe will be barred from this thread shortly if he dare give us his enlighten opinion on ties and socks while trying to sell his well priced, good quality stock.

And CEP, brainwashed as I am, I am loving the ties. Wore the Shantung maroon one to the Aus Thread Melbourne lunch and the Black Watch one yesterday with a pink Bologna striped P Johnson shirt - beautiful.
