I am continuing my identity theft in various nations. Was successful in Melbourne fooling a forum member I was in fact blahman. Got away with a few grand there.

Skipped into HK, where I refined the persona and explained away my whispy, babies bum fluff moustache as a charity bet. Sure hooked in those cute HK. Cosplay/manga girls down by the ferry terminal on Kowloon side back of arts center. I told them I'd sponsor them in Melbourne. Gave my name as blahman and address of course. Borrowed money from them big time and blew it all at the armory store on double monks and no socks and 5" cuffs on my high-water flannels.

Then I moved onto big time in Taiwan. I have conned hundreds of Hello Kitty Goth, Rock Kwai chicks into thinking that I'm blahman from a Korean Boy Band making it big in australia.

Again I've give his address and on screen names. I've conned lots of money and sex off them. Most of their families are mainland gangsters with connections in Australia.

So when I skip with the loot next week the families of mainland gangsters will be in Melbourne looking for blah.

It was hard for me to wear tight skinny black jeans 10" below my hips and rolled up 5" above my bare ankle in brown double monks , unstrapped, but it has been worth it for the trouble it will cause blahman. I can now un gell my hair and take down my fake Korean Boy Band website.

Now I'll sit back and watch the Australian Asian Crime Squad at work, that's If the mainland gangsters don't chop blahmans legs off first.

Got nothing to do with groupthink actually.... I just don't like peak lapels at all.

If you have a peak lapel double-breasted suit, it is sometimes possible to convert it to a single-breasted, notch lapel suit as there is plenty of extra fabric to cut down. However, in a single-breasted suit I doubt that there would be sufficient material to cut down and so you wouldn't be able to do it. If you tried, you'd probably end up with half a buttonhole sticking out at the side, for example.

Given that they are something like $600 at full retail at Herringbone, I doubt that you'd see them come down to $300. How much do they cost through p.lal or Pediwear? Shouldn't be too horrendously bad, particularly as the Australian dollar is strong.

Have a look at the Cheaney Warwick on Herring Shoes, it's quite similar in styling and last shape. And around $350ish AUD at the moment shipped with Herring trees.

P Lal is not getting any more stock of C&J so if they have your size then grab it. The Hallam at P Lal is AUD 377 + shipping to Australia. Drop them an email and check.

I copped a couple bits in the sale - that's the only time I would buy from them, unless you're skrilled to the max. I too enjoy the articles. They had a piece on football style that included Bill Shankly. :slayer: to that.

I did buy a PRL jacket earlier this year for about $140 shipped from MR Porter - on sale, of course. It arrived and I was wearing it the same day that they were putting the jacket out on the floor at the Collins Street store for a reasonable $600.

There's a 'street style' photo of me somewhere on the site, and I got a small voucher for it - but it still doesn't make anything on the site even remotely affordable. I do like that they have exact measurements of products. I don't like how they take US-branded products, e.g. JCrew t-shirts and price them the same in GBP as the USD.

I'm needing a little help on AE, last 5 sizing. For reference my UK size is a 10, and my Euro size is a 44. I've never had an issue with width when buying standard width shoes in those sizes. If anything I have a slightly high instep (caused by a thickish top to my foot, rather than a higher than usual arch). Using the AE online measure guides my foot is just touching the 10.5 line, and the width table indicates a D width.

For a bit more info a own a pair of 026 Last Loakes in a UK10 which fit well. I also own a pair of AS 99 last UK10 which are a touch narrower than the Loakes, and which fit perfect.

If i'm looking at an AE Strand, or any AE on the #5 last do you think I should go for a 10.5D, or a 10.5E ? Its pretty much impossible to try an AEs on down here, and as we know return shipping is expensive if I get the wrong size.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I reckon you should ask this one in the AE Appreciation thread as I don't think many of us will have that much experience with them.

I don't know if this will help, but I have two pairs of AE - a pair of black suede Gucci laofer knock-offs and a pair of opera pumps (no they haven't had much wear, but they were cheap!). I take a 44 and these two pairs are 10.5, so I think you are probably okay on length. I have the world's widest feet - so these are both EEE and they seem true to size on width. I'm kind of thinking if you wear standard width in other shoes, perhaps the D is a better bet. Leaving aside variations from different lasts, the impression I get is the US D is pretty generous - I even have a few D pairs I wear by going up in size from my true size. Maybe you could take your foot circumference with a tape and the width and call AE customer service - see what they say.

Sorry ar3nbe, can't help with AE sizing, only Alden :(

Did anyone else watch the Obama address to parliament? I was mesmerised by how closely his jacket hugged the back of his neck and the complete lack of collar gap and the perfect symmetrical dimple in his tie knot. And then, they showed Abbott - he looked and spoke sloppily, in my opinion..

How do you get free herring trees? I thought the code "HSAB" just applied to Herring Branded shoes.
