Don't die just yet there are probably other SF induced style innovations you can introduce....
Haha - I don't have an R&B burgundy knit tie, yet.
Are they sold in the actual stores or in an outlet somewhere? Everyone seems to mention them being 'on sale'..
What a soldier and what a life! If it fits why now wear it? After reading that story it would be a privilege.
I got mine from the 495 Collins Street sale.
They are sold at every R&B store as well as Myer, usually on sale as knit ties never really caught on with shoppers and priced at $49 (?) . Just that at the Collins Street store last week it was among the ties @ $35 each and buy 3 get 1 free.
Have mine on today.
Thanks Jimbo and Blahman. I will also buy one.
SF Meetup on 18 November from 6pm onwards at The Aylesbury (rooftop bar)
Attendees so far:
blahman (making an appearance as a hipster)
Jimbosaurus (probably not in a tie or jacket)
If we get a few more guys along I'll put in a call and reserve a section for us. So who else is in?
Actually you can put me down as a maybe. I had my dates wrong but I've got some other loose plans for that night so it will depend on when I can get away from work. You can also put me down as a 'will probably not be wearing a tie or jacket'.
If the alterations are significant Zegna on Collins will send it to Arthur Korderas, a tailor in Toorak who Luciano Azzaro also uses. He's very good, and reasonably priced but slow. I rarely get anything back from him inside two weeks. It doesn't take too long to get there from the CBD, just 12 minutes on the train to South Yarra station, and he's a two minute walk.
I've also used American Tailors for some alterations. They seem to be more expensive than Arthur but are quicker and potentially more convenient.
People on this forum recommend Katrina's in Liverpool st at the top of Bourke St.
Probably should put me down as maybe as well and most likely to be in jeans and cartoon print t-shirt.
The thing with Katrina's is that you have to has some clue about how you like your fit and be firm about it.
Done. I may or may not be tarted up as well as it's casual Friday's these days. Or I may just decide to break out my red pants. We'll see.
I'll come for a drink, but need to be out of there by 8.
I've been using Steve Giannopoulous at "the gentlemen's tailor" in Camberwell. He is able to give you advice about alterations and prices are quite reasonable. His work is of high quality IMO.
Any attempt at a moustache would be so much less than wispy. Maybe I can steal one off my neighbours, they seem to have too many.
