Oh wow. I was just looking through Spoo's pocketsquare sale thread. Has anyone noticed this?

Probably only similar in looks, not in price tag!

Nice work from Rhodes and Beckett ripping off Tom Ford.

Happy to catch up with the Melbourne Crew again. How about we try and catch a drink one Friday night after work?

    Know who owns R&B?

    Harrolds.

So why are you surprised at this behaviour?

The SA at Rhodes and Beckett who I see working all the time (wild haired, dark skinned fella who seem quite knowledgeable) did tell me they are on par with Tom Ford squares and their other accessories are out of the same factory as Zegna ones. Believable I say.

^^ Wow, that's hilarious. I have three R&B pocket squares. They were about $14 each.

Same, and I really like them. I had a navy one with dots and stripes on the the other day while I was in herringbone and the sa said he really liked it and asked whee it was from. Couldn' bring myself to tell him I scammed it cheap with their online voucher.

How much would the TF versions be then?

Not surprised it occurs, just surprised at quite how blatant it is. I mean, they could have changed any number of things to make it a bit different. Instead they went for the bold choice of 'a slight border'

I have a TF I picked up at a discount store in NYC earlier this year and I'd say the quality doesn't quite compare. The R&B ones aren't near as smooth, well finished and dyed as it is.

    They're still not bad though.

When you think about it, how much effort does it really take and how much does it really cost to make one of those square? Outside of advertising costs, not that much at all. And pricing strategy of luxury goods - you know Veblen goods and all that.

Especially if you got it for free using R & B's offer early in the year.

Anyone from here take up Giangc 's (of t-t-l-g.com) offer to be an extra body (I know the first one is Christian from Style Sage (and Herringbone)) - http://linenforsummertweedforwinter...47/a-few-of-melbournes-well-dressed-men-sport

Speaking of R&B squares was just down at the 70% sale and the guy reckoned all the squares sold out on day 1! Must be an iGent revolution going on.. Also they still have a decent number of knit ties in their $35 (or 4 for the price of 3) sale, including at least one Official Oz SF Burghundy Knit Tie (TM) :)

I wonder what Tom Ford would think of his Australian distributer ripping of his own designs?

Nice sentiment, but they really couldn't find some sharper dressed guys? Pocket squares dont make you well dressed, the fit does

Next Oz meet up, can everyone sport a burgundy knit tie? It would be hilariously homo and cool at the same time.
