We should point out that Azzaro is hard to find, certainly the first time, and sometimes the door is locked. So take the phone number so you can ring first. I'm not sure how best to describe the door and where it is.

It's right next door on the left of the badminton shop.

The New Zealand badminton team is called The Blackcocks. Seriously.

Don't google that if you're at work.

They only specialise in Victor gear though.

    Edit: Correction on brand.

Thank you to everyone that replied. I will be wearing the suit for my wedding Naka, and will be my first decent suit purchase. My budget is around $1400 - $1600 for the suit I guess i'll have to pay another couple 100 to get it tailored once I bring it home.

It's reassuring to hear that the guys at Azzaro are top rate. As I have no idea about suits, it will be very handy having those guys there.

I did try on a Canali suit from a local store down here. It fitted great in the shoulders, but it would of needed tailoring in the waist. I assume I tried on more of the "classic" fit Canali as it didn't have any waist suppresion.

Just another question on Azzaro's Versace line, do they only stock the "collection" range? Or do they also stock the "Gianni versace couture" range also? I really like the cut of the Versace, but I would like to try at least get a half canvassed suit at minimum.

Sorry for all the questions guys, I think I have pretty much what I wanted to ask covered now lol. Thanks again!

Lol, I know what your saying about the shoes! And they are asking around $500 - $600 for some of them! I haven't really looked at their suit range as I don't really know what i'm looking at! But do they stock some good suits in there tobiasj? From what you saw in there, what would you recommend me to check out?

Anyone check out the R&B sale? I wasn't in town till today so I popped in and there was still quite a lot of stuff on sale. I picked up a $9 pocket square but not much else since I'm looking for a couple of OBDCs right now.

Also, I just returned from Malaysia where I visited the one and only P.Lal's to pick up a pair of brown Monktons and a pair of black Connaughts. In terms of C&J, they are not getting any more in so what's left is all you have. The place is situated on a main road and looks completely deserted at first glance. You need to drive down a slope round to the back to the basement where they currently operate from - lots of shoes all over the place but the layout could be a lot better. The fitting area should have been in the centre of the shoes on display rather than a long walk away. Aside from that, they were pretty nice but need to brush up on their customer service a little - very polite on the phone but it was a real effort to get them to bring shoes. They also didn't have a Brannock gauge which I though was very strange. That aside, I'm really pleased with the two pairs I got. All I need now is a pair of oxblood or dark brown penny loafers and I'm done :)

I also paid a visit to Uniqlo which opened five minutes away from where I was staying - got a pair of the selvedge jeans, some chino shorts, a pair of vintage flat front chinos and some other stuff (including a couple of Heattech t-shirts for the heck of it). Pretty good place for casual stuff and the staff should "Welcome to Uniqlo!" as you enter :) On the opening day, people started queuing up from 6am for the 10am opening of the store!

It was only thanks to Styleforum and Put This On that I even knew about any of this stuff. Thanks!

All in all, a pretty fruitful trip!

Only Versace Collection. I've never seen Versace couture for sale in Australia.

For $1600 you'll get two suits.

BTW I went into the Zegna shop in Melbourne today. A lovely 3-piece winter suit...for $5000!! The 2-piece suit was $4000. Standard Zegna...not Couture. Not even Trofeo.

When did Zegna prices in Australia detach themselves from reality? I'm fairly sure that Zegna at David Jones is still about $2500 for a suit.

According to Zegna staff, it depends a lot on the current price of wool, silk etc.

That said, the product, while excellent (full-canvassing on Mainline and above, quality workmanship), is still ridiculously overpriced - e.g. $225 for a standard silk tie?? No self-tipping?? No idea if it's hand or machine-stitched?? What the??

Best to buy during sale time, fellas.
