Using reasonable force to remove illegal squatters who are crying as if they are being tazed isn't funny to you? It is to me. On another note, got my suit back from the tailors. As suspected the sleeves are a tad too long but all in all the pants are passable.

+1. They are behaving like precious little sooks, crying for mummy because the big bad policeman dared to touch them. It is hilarious.

The Occupy Wall Street protesters have a point; the current version of capitalism favoured by Wall Street is unsustainable in the long term and it's probably a good time to sit down and work out what needs to be done to reign in some of the excess. The Occupy Melbourne ones? Not so much.

Speaking of tailors, I can't wait until I pick up my cheap-ass thrifted suit and several pairs of trousers (including a pair of Canali flannel trousers thrifted for a whopping $5) from the tailor later this week. :slayer:

The police exist solely to enforce the law. What law are people breaking by sitting around in a public space talking about issues that concern them? (Whether or not we agree with them is totally irrelevant).

If you are confortable with - and find funny - the idea that our politicians can unilaterally command the police to wield any level of force against people breaking no laws, without even bringing charges, perhaps you are best suited to a different form of government than democracy.

I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire....

Actually Voltaire never said that (excuse my pedantry).

Whilst I agree with much of what you say Appolyon, it would seem (from transcripts on their own website) that they were in fact breaking several council bylaws, and as such their removal was perfectly lawful, if debatable on many other aspects.

Grey territory their lennier. The bylaws state you are not allowed to camp there. Once the police removed the 'camp' they had no right to remove the people.

Can we keep the discussion in the area of men's clothing?

Re Bolded Portion - This is the one aspect of what has transpired that I find unsettling at best, and at worst, downright scary.

    What next? Thought Police?
