@Teggeh: Seeing as their service as a tailor is quite one on one, I'd buy something from them to feel less guilty, even if its something small.

Yeah. I'm thinking of getting P Johnson to do it while I'm getting suits there. I hope they understand I just can't afford ~$250 shirts at the same time as 6 suits. lol

    Hi guys,

First post. I'm from Sydney and I looking to get a nice suit, a sports coat/blazer and some pants to go with the sports coat/blazer. I have bugger all nice clothes - just one cheap ron bennet suit.

I am thinking of trying Germanicos or P Johnson and I am interested in your thoughts. P Johnson seems to get good reviews but there is very little info on Germanicos. Apart from that I was thinking of trying the online option maybe http://www.atailoredsuit.com/.

    Any thoughts ?

Read the Patrick Johnson thread on this forum. You can also search for Germanicos...they've been mentioned before.

I have read the Patrick Johnson thread - they sound good. There isn't much info on Germanicos that I can see.

Seriously, this thread needs a ban on PJohnson questions...

    Melbourne.
got it from that Spencer Street clearance store place (used to be DFO). Probably going to go back there at lunchtime as there was a heaver navy colored one for $99 which I should have bought as well. Also want to go to Harrolds at lunchtime which is conveniently located at the complete opposite end of the city....

seemed to have about 1 or 2 of most sizes from around 38-48ish. I'm a 38, and I think it was the last one in that size of the style I got (unlined navy/white thin stripes, very casual looking). There's no way I would have paid full price for it, but as something to dress up a pair of jeans it's what I was after.

I don't mind at all. I think asking here is a good idea and helps make this thread a meta thread, starting point, for Australians. The search function on this site isn't all that great in my experience and its often hard even for the regular habitu├ęs to sift through the dross to find the gems.

Heres the main P J Johnson thread.

    Thanks for that.

I'm interested in this, being an ex sheep farmer and shearing shed worker as well as a wool wearer.

A mark of the best wool is a label Australian Merino - yet we have no weaving/ cloth industry to speak of at all.

Did you buy the book online?

I cant find it online to order

The book has sold out I believe. I tried to buy it 5 days after it came out and there was only one Dymocks store in Sydney with a copy left.

Really hoping they print a second run.
