1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

This thread is a constant source of amusement, bad puns [the best kind] and surprise. I would never have expected a Dead Kennedy's reference.

The problem with Target is that I don't believe we see it as an upmarket-mid tier department store regardless of the quality improvements and brand introductions.

Maybe it's just all in my mind and others but I wouldn't purchase business wear from Target.

I go to Target to buy clothes for the kids - note - less budget left for me - and you know what, Target is starting to carry decent stuff for the money.
The styling is up there (and possibly inspired by) with the big boys - even if the quality is not top drawer. It's certainly not all trailer-trash - there are staples there like crewneck jumpers, quilted vests, brogues and boots. Their business wear is still awful.

Years ago, going by the Melbourne Mx, the Sydneysiders presented in the 'Found in the street' section were always more presentable than people found in other capitals.

Could it be that although Melbourne is the cultural capital there is too much black and drab here?

I need to get the crystal on a cheap-ish watch replaced.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a watch repair place I can go to, before I rely on Google for answers?

    Thanks!

Target USA is amazing. You can buy some great pieces there.

Target AU is okay but still needs to lift its menswear range, particularly its activewear (the womens lines are awesome).

BTW - malefashionadvice on reddit sucks. Some of the fails I've seen in the last few days:
    - How can I wear sandals stylishly? (Overwhelmingly people gave advice that wasn't 'no')
    - I'm 20 something, can I wear a seersucker suit (everyone thought this was a great idea)
    - Should I wear short sleeve shirts? (Answer overwhelmingly 'yes')

I think malefashionadviceAU could be even worse...

I'm watching Slow Train through Africa with Griff Jones on SBS now and I just saw 'Swenking' in action. I need to move to South Africa ASAP

South Africa is a cesspit of violence and racism, almost all South Africans I know that are now here (maybe 15 people) will never go back because of how dangerous it is.

Of all the expats I've encountered only the South Africans have nothing good to say about their homeland.

    What is wrong with seersucker?

I think SF would also have a favourable view on seersucker clothing.

I've got a pair of Brooks Bros seersucker shorts, and they're my favourite pair of shorts. No short sleeve shirts around here either, I'll leave those for used car dealers.

PSA. Azzaro sale now on. Brioni, Zegna and Cantarelli suits for $500. No idea what they have, but might be worth a visit.

I would say that it is a lovely place to visit (just don't do dumb things like drive through a game reserve with your window down, and have your wits about you) but living there is a different matter. Most people are very friendly and still lots of community. Good wine (though Barossa et al here is similarly well spoken for) and, in my opinion, the variety and quality of fresh fruit and meat beats the pants off what I have seen here in Australia.

As a holiday destination though it does tend to lose out in Australian considerations compared to other International options.
