1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Jumping onto the bandwagon of due diligence, we should also include Twelve Tailors & Trunk Tailors from Melbourne.

Though given their relative youth - and this is meant in the most non-accusatory tone possible - it will be interesting to see whether they reveal themselves to be honest and forthright.

    What the?!

This is a bit off topic but does anyone know where to get some cheap, basic running clothes?

I'm moving from weightlifting into running - I'd like to do the City to Surf, the Bridge Run and the Colour Run later this year.

I know you're not supposed to care about what you run in but it would give me some confidence not to look like a complete doofus.

Nike is too expensive/has no variety. Uniqlo and H&M really lack options compared to what they have overseas.

Go to the nike outlet in homebush or puma outlet at dfo or whatever it's called these days. Used to be a puma outlet in Alexandria actually.

I get a lot of stuff at lululemon but it's not cheap (actually my wife and MIL buy it for me at xmas etc).

Try Wiggle. I buy a lot of cycling gear from them, but the also sell running gear. Also their inhouse brand DBH (or something) is actually great value.

Not sure what you're after in terms of style. My running gear consists of shorts from Brooks Outlet (I think it was like $8 during a boxing day sale) and my tops are just random tech fabric sports tops I've collected over the years all from Outlet sales: Nike, Puma, Uniqlo.

I think it's pretty easy to not look like a doofus in running gear: if you're wearing compressions tights ffs theyre suppose to be underwear, put some shorts on, and don't wear those stupid gym singlets.

Outlet stores are the easy way to go. Honestly if you worry too much about what you're wearing while getting fit you might be focusing on the wrong thing.

probably worth a gander here too:

Synthetic running shirt and 5" running shorts with side pockets.

H&M and Uniqlos Airism lines are amazing, but they sell jack shit out here.

Lulu Lemon is nice, expensive though.

Should be pretty easy to obtain then if that's all you're after I would think. Mid season sales just started so it is a good time.

Speaking of which Adidas outlet also started with their buy 4 get additional 40%off sale too.

I have trouble trying to imagine a brand called lululemon making men's gym wear, let alone wearing it. I'm about to google this.

Re Foxhounds toj comment, he's given TOJ $3k and in return only received a backpack so far.

Hi guys, first post but have been trawling through parts of this thread for a month or so.

Could I get recommendations on where I could find a medium thickness wool sock? I've got sweaty feet so really need a decent % wool sock and a more thickness than 'thin' socks provide.

I've visited DJs and Myer a couple of times recently but the options are truly sparse. I tried the holeproof computer socks but they must be quite a low wool blend (no % displayed on the tags) as I my feet can get sweaty and smell a little after a day in them. Also at both those retailers the wool options were basically just thin and plain black, navy, beige.

    Thanks for the help :)

When Henry Carter restock more socks, they are worth a look. Otherwise I get some of my socks from Woods of Shropshire (Pantherella). If you are on a budget, Viccel are worth a look.
