1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Estelle Lucas, a sex worker who was travelling from Melbourne to Perth, where a science-fiction convention is on, said she was refused entry to the Qantas Club in Melbourne on Wednesday because she was wearing thongs.

The science fiction convention doesn't start for another two weeks!

She no doubt has plans to occupy her time.

I for one support the Qantas lounge being open to courtesans wearing a thong.

Well, I guess that means that you'll just have to wait another couple of weeks before you can meet up with Estelle. [What are you dressing up as for the convention, by the way?]

If you are doing nothing over Easter then the Ambrosi thread makes a good read. (as does the chambray shirt saga, and the bespoke shoes, and so on - all follow the predictable story arc)

Its a must to start at the start* - ease into the mind-frame about how great these trousers are, then on to Ambrosi in Tokyo (iirc) - on the booze - and so on.

    * even better if you can allow a few days in between posts to mimic or get a feel for elapsed time - but that may require an endurance beyond reasonableness

Serious question, what exactly has gone down with TOJ? I haven't been following the saga but as someone who bought a TOJ jacket in 2008, I feel pretty sad to see where such a great brand in its current state.

Drew (owner) announced that the company would close. A rush of orders ensued. He went AWOL and jackets have been produced at a snails pace. Along the way he also sold wallets and bags and people bought them and they were delayed.

At this point, hell even when bags were announced, anyone spending money is gambling.
