I have some odd trousers with side tabs, and some odd trousers with belt loops. I don't mind wearing odd trousers with braces, so I'm happy to have the side tabs.

I do find, though, that if I don't wear braces with my side-tab trousers, I do have to hitch up my trousers from time to time as they can slip down a bit.

Edited to add: Re: lukejackson's questions about odd jackets, I'd go for the lighter grey odd jacket as long as the fabric had some sort of visible texture or weave, such as a herringbone pattern.

I wear a belt and braces. I'm insecure.

I don't like that look where the belt shows so I wear a cummerband over the belt to cover it - same fabric as the trousers, of course.

I don't deny the sentiment that suggests db stand out more but is that something people here worry about though? I mean lets be honest you wear a pocket square or a knit tie and you pretty much stand out in Aus.

I guess it all depends on what level you're comfortable going to on the peacock scale.

I certainly dress more conservatively than some here, and don't feel comfortable going above a 7. And if don't feel comfortable in something you won't wear it well.

Others, like Foxy, go all the way to 11...

For some reason I have the opposite issue. I tend to lose weight easily and the belt has to be tightened, scrunching up the pants. With the side adjusters I can tighten them easily to compensate and this does not seem to happen..and they stay tight most of the day.

Light grey jackets look good with slightly darker grey pants and with bone pants IMO. I don't like them with dark blue though, or brown.

Interesting use of the word 'issue" (excuse me, I am just jealous).

Fair enough, certainly agree with the bolded part.

For me I think this generally sums it up

+1 if you know what movie the above is from. Saw this for the first time in yeeears last week, definitely a reason they call them classics.

Anyone know of any economical/reputable options to install high quality rx lenses into an existing frame in Australia?

Nothing special, just a -2.00 prescription. I do want thin lenses & quality coatings though.

Lat time I went 1.6 Crizal Forte, which was the fashion at the time.

Eyes on Rathdowne (Rathdowne St, Carlton, Melbourne) has provided me with great service. There's a couple of comments about them in this thread. I've been meaning to go back to get some prescription lenses put into my sunglass frames.

SOS conditioned my new Sutor Mantelassi light brown chukka's. It's darkened them severely! Will it fade? Can I bring the original color back?

    Not happy : (
