Q - what's the maximum you can move the top button on a dress shirt without skewing the collar?

The collars on my MJ Bale shirts are a little on the tight side - 0.5-1cm would save them.

Should be fine, done it plenty of times.

Bloody gutted about the rugby, Lions didnt deserve the win but you'll always struggle when you miss that many shots at goal. Feel sorry for Beale.

Folau smashed it though which is positive for the next test.

The result sucked big time so disappointed but a as you say a few positives to take out of it to be encouraged for next weekend. I could use more to drink but I must show restraint.

And the Tigers beat the Raiders not many of the soothsayers predicted this.

It's a tough one: depends on collar height, stiffness, and how spread the collar is.

On a wide spread, low band, soft collar I might try a centimetre. This said, letting out is safer than taking in. Try it, and see how it goes. You have nothing to lose!

Scored at the DJs sale today:

One RL button-down shirt, looks like a pale blue denim but cut as a dress shirt. 60% off.

One Paul Smith mid blue cotton/linen shirt, very nice indeed, one size too small for me so I will have to suck in my tummy, but it makes my shoulders and pecs look impressive, so hey, it's all win. 50% off.

Yes but if your moving the top button it must be for a tie?

Either way there wouldn't be more than 1cm of fabric to relocate the button. I would do it so that the whole silhouette of the button is still over the cloth rather than attaching it right on the end of the collar

So, I'm going through a phase where I think most of HVRMINN's stuff is pretty cool (including his work with Vietto):

Price at DJs? Thought they'd be c. 400? If so I'd rather bench cjs or carmina

$550 a pop. i know for that price i'd rather get carmina, but was looking to see if quality has dropped or not. a bit of research on here says that they're the same quality. others have said quality has definitely dropped but prices have been marked up significantly since prada stepped in.

Not sure what lines DJ's is carrying but the custom grade are the only Church's worth buying IMO. If you can get them for about $400 you are doing well; probably better than CJ benchgrade though not for the price of handgrades at $550. Haven't noticed any quality issues myself for the handgrades as a result of the Prada takeover, though consequently the quality of Cheaney has improved IMO since the Church family has taken over there.

Thankfully Prada's influence at Church's seems so far to be limited to the creation of the cheaper City line.
