1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Hi Nabil

The full episode I watched has been taken down.

However, some kind soul has uploaded it in parts. Here is the link for part 1; related links to the other parts will probably be displayed once you navigate there:

    Don't youse use torrents?

I've got about 1.5Tb of fillums, TV series, docos etc. Plus a WD Live tv box to access youtube, iView etc. So I hardly ever watch TV.

Except the other night I did watch Bill Cunningham again - its such a delight.
Afterwards there was a doco USA: Crackhouse I think it was called.
It was riveting - the cops had cameras hardwired inside a dealing house - before the gang moved in - and it had real footage of the ordinary life of a dealer house and gang - violence and all. AS well as interviews with the guys relatives and with some of the guys - now doing 30 years! - best doco I've seen for years. Catch it on ABC iView.

Problem is... I'm on my iPad most of the time, not my laptop.

    Doco sounds interesting.

Torrents really are great but Usenet is the way of the future, the speed is phenomenal. The downside being the montly fee, which can pretty cheap if picked up during sale period. I also am not a fan of the browser based software. Much prefer the external clients. Much easier to control remotely.

USENET the way of the future ?? wtf?

I use uTorrent - not browser - but my Opera browser has a good enough torrent d/l in it. I'm not sure what you mean "control" it remotely - what would you being doing "controlling" it remotely?

Yes, it is so much faster. The problem lies that the clients are browser based, well, for me that's a problem.

I can remotely control my torrents, mainly for adding torrents. If I'm out, want to watch a movie when I get home, I can add the torrent file remotely via my phone and It will be downloaded by the time I get home, as opposed to coming home and having to wait for the download to finish.

Anyone here with a young son. I wore this suit once from Myer to my cousins wedding when I was 13, it's yours if you'd like it. Would rather give it to someone than see it go to waste.

    CEP,

I've found an extension for Chrome that masks my true location and routes it via the UK - which makes BBC's iPlayer accessible. Full episodes of Sherlock (and many other good shows) there.

    That's called a VPN.

But be careful as to what other data it's forwarding.

Given that Usenet has existed since before most Aussies had dial up I would say its the way of the past... but its certainly made a popular comeback with the torrents closing and being so easily tracked.

For anyone big into downloading I cannot recommend enough picking yourself up a HP Microserver. For all the money I have spent on tech easily one of the best investments.
