1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

So that's what a "string loafer" is. I did wonder.

There's some bargains to be had there.

Anyone want to buy my HC Herringbone wool tie? I'll sell it half retail. PM me.

CD - I called into one of my Salvos on the way home today - they have got rid of at least 75% of the stuff they had and its spacious and cleanly organised - and everything is about half the price it used to be. Good move all round. I wonder how much individual shops have autonomy with pricing etc or is it a chain wide thing. I'll have to check a few others out. One nice Brioni suit in a 44.

Thanks for picking it up for me!

I notice something has gone on at Salvos in my suburb that prices for suits are reasonable all of a sudden. Back at the big Vinnies warehouse they are still separating suits so that they have racks of unsold jackets that are basically rags at what cost to the business and waste of good suits?

Vinnies needs a big shake up IMO. My solicitor told me a benefactor client left them $3million and he could not get anyone to ring back and encash the cheques for months.:brick:

Very sharp I would wear those...sockless...

Hey guys - anyone interested in an e-Secret Santa?

Running one on another board, a lot of fun. Not sure if this is the right place (NO CHRISTMAS IS AMERICANISED, IT SHOULD FUCK OFF RIGHT OUT OF TOWN MOTHERFUCKER, ALSO TALK ONLY ABOUT CLOTHES!).

Just thought I'd guage interest, have participated in e-SS two years running, always a great time, very easy to do, great way to celebrate community and connection!

If you're interested, or want to know more let me know, or like the post and I'll see what's what - if only two people want to do it, well, that's ok, no harm in asking :).

People interested PM/email me their real names/addresses. Then I takes a list of people interested and pairs them off (randomly). Then I PM everyone telling them who they are to gift presents to and their address. Using the mail we send presents - due to the mail they get everywhere at slightly different times, but people post as they get them, for a big reveal!

    Previously I have received:
    - A sweet graphic novel
    - A USB full of music
    - Some awesome cards
    - Some postcards from middle of nowhere USA
    - A lot of smiles and laughs

The idea is to keep it small, significant, personal and managable.

    Those look fantastic! [IMG]

Coincidentally, I was wearing pindot gray socks and received some new Carminas as well [IMG]

Captoe oxfords on the Inca last to replace a pair of brown captoed oxfords that I sold to Foxy.

Sadly, I did not get through my interview at McDonald's:

I'd be in, but you'd need to get organised real quick, allowing at least a week for postage.

We are doing this with my Basenotes group. The deal was we all exchange about 15 ml of samples etc that we no longer need. I drew one of Australia's major perfume collectors, and I could not imagine anything she wouldn't already have. So I sent her a vintage bottle I found at the op shop, reasoning that even a collector will welcome more of the same when it's vintage.

I consider myself a junior partner in your ownership of the Salvos in our area. :)

Definitely on a tighish timeline - but even if things arrive between Christmas and NY that's not such a big deal (for me at least).

If I get enough interest I'll set some strict dates and we'll go from there, but thanks for raising the issue.
