1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Thanks Tobias, I had a look at that site, but there's nothing there that fits the bill. Ideally there would be some physical store in Melbourne (or Sydney, I'm there next week) that has lots and lots of different buttons. A haberdashery store, or whatnot. Maybe Spotlight?

Where do tailors get their buttons from f'chrissakes?

Really? There are only about eight choices on that website. Only one of them is horn. And it's the wrong colour.

Gentlemen, I greatly appreciate your efforts in helping, but what I'm actually after is a local haberdashery store which sells buttons. Can anybody here suggest one? Cheers.

Remember hearing about this place a few years back. In the Nicholas Building on Swanston and Flinders Lane.

    Otherwise maybe Cleggs on Elizabeth.

My bad, I thought your query started with MOP buttons as well.

And yes, really. Hwa Seng supplies to tailors all over the world - save for the top end ones. Trust me, I wouldn't pull shit out of my arse without backing it up. If I enjoyed doing that, you'd be hearing a lot from me more often.

I haven't been there for a while but The Button Shop in Glenferrie Rd used to have a big range.

Any ideas on pants that look reasonable for those with large thighs? Its annoying having a slightly too big waist to accommodate them. I probably will need to try them on in Melbourne somewhere, because I've had some issues with online and getting a good fit. I would like a leg opening that isn't too big. Maybe my best bet is mtm?

Yes, saw that too when looking up the Nicholas Building one but figured Coxy was more of a CBD man. He does seem to travel a fair bit so I guess Glenferrie Road should be too much out the way.

Well, everyone has been very helpful and now I have lots of options. Thanks, Aussie threaders.

Romp, your offer was particularly generous, but I need six big buttons and sixteen smaller ones, all matching. So really I don't think it's appropriate to impose.

I'm actually not a CBD guy, but is this Thursday evening CBD meet going ahead?

Meetup going ahead in the CBD but no requirement to dress CBD.

At this stage it is Tuscan Bar from 7pm (unless others want to meet earlier).

Across the road from American Tailors, huh? That's dangerous.

I may get there a bit earlier than 7.
