1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

    I've got at least 3 jackets wool/silk/linen.
Its a very good blend combining and enhancing the best characteristics of all of them and eliminating the worst of all their characteristics.

That came up at work recently, I'm not sure if theres a general shift or its a generational thing - perhaps its fuelled by the things like the anonymity of the internet where it really doesn't matter if any generic sf members knows how much you earn and spend etc. but yeah at least in the last Cpl of places I've been at the younger people all talk and compare their salaries, income and expenditure like its nothing and like confidentially agreements mean nothing. Not how I was raised but I guess im in the middle, won't talk about it with colleagues but I have no problems if family or friends want to discuss those topics.

    Hi Gents,

Would like your opinions on your pick for quality and value for money on a Rhodes & Beckett or MJ Bale suit option (I've seen alot of comments here on both brands however would like to know which one you would pick).

    Specifically:

    1) R&B on warehouse sale ~$750 - http://www.rhodesbeckett.com.au/clearance.php
    2) MJ Bale 2 for $1500 - http://www.mjbale.com/suits/2-suits-for-1500

I currently have 2 MJ Bale suits from their 2 for $1000 range (previous season) and reckon they're value for money but would snap up R&B if they're better quality/value, keen to get something in Charcoal and a similiar shade to the Gaston.

    Thanks in advance.

Agreed - I've got a couple of wool/silk/linen blend jackets from Brooks Brothers and they are great - the fabric is quite light and breathable, but doesn't crease much, hangs nicely and has a very nice hand.

No? Sorry, you've lost me there.

Question for anyone who has ordered from Viola Milano, how do you get VAT taken off your order? I've emailed them, but it might take a while to hear back.

Ha, thanks CD. PJ charge $30 for pink socks but maybe you should wait and see what Henry Carter stocks.

What is this Topy you speak of? Is this a wig? (Don't start Pink Socks).

Just landed in Japan and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the inflight duty free magazine on JAL. Most of the menswear pictures looked great (something I could see myself wearing on a day to day basis) and examples of the things you could buy would be Ring Jacket, Avirex outerwear, Brooks Brothers ties and Ships. Beats the crap out of anything else I've seen offered in any other inflight magazine.

I'm staying at a hotel recommended by fxh and it's cool. Found the MTM place at the end of the street but it was closed - it's still amazing that a smallish neighbourhood like this has something like that. The clothes looked pretty decent as well. Weather's pretty much the same as it's been in Melbourne 13-17 degrees.

We only got to the hotel in the evening so I'm hoping to see a lot more tomorrow.

    Hope you're all well.
