On a separate note: Sydney meetup round 2:

18 April (Thursday)
630pm onwards
Some place in the conservative business dress

who's in?

Yeah I'll try and make this one. Bavarian Bier Cafe might be a decent venue (the one on O'Connell street is a lot less crowded than York). It has the added bonus of being opposite Henry Bucks.

There is never a time I've seen a unbuttoned BD and though it wouldn't look better as either
a) not a BD or
b) actually buttoned...

That is pretty nice. Deets on where you bought it / the price?

Its a French brand called La Panoplie

It's a new brand stocked at Incu only available instore

Think it was $389. Water resistant cotton, lightweight so ideal for layering

That thread has entered Bizarro world.

By the way, how does everyone arrange their ties in storage?

By colour, by material or by some other criteria?

That is for the valet to deal with.

Hang most of them, no real rhyme or reason (which is strange as everything else in wardrobe is by category then colour, eg shirts together and run from white to navy, black leather shoes sit with black leather shoes and so on).

Knit ties and some wool ones in a box (but starting to hang all but knit ties). Might need to look at organising the ties on the hanging rack. Only structure so far is bowties at the top.

I long ran out of room on my tie racks - im tripling up on rungs now - better ties on top so the crappier ones are used as protection hehe

im half considering getting metal bars and a step ladder to organise my suiting though and at the same time I might get bars installed to hang my ties too

Ive got high ceilings so I can get two levels of suits in if I do it and probably would need to rotate top and bottom by season. hmm writing this out sounds like a lot of work... need a batman style mechanical popup cage that sink back into the floor and automatically organise my suits in a stacker style arrangement....

Only had 5 seconds of access with Japanese keyboard. That's qwerty. Last 5 days been in koide , small town in uonamo city, in Niigata pref. Snow country, still a metre or two metres of snow beside streets and houses. Today top of 7 and rain heavey all day. Have had some warmer days. staying with friends father in house with only one chair in whole house. Seven people. No net access , am stealing some neighbours access here.

I can report sake good, hot springs good, sushi good, sashimi home made good, beer good, snow cold, back to tokio on fast train tomorrow.

Sounds like an awesome experience, fxh. Would love to get to Japan some time.

Same here. My Big W ties on the bottom and Roger David ones on top. Got a couple from that suit shop on Bridge Road that are class, keep those in a separate drawer, naturally.

Understood but are they arranged in any particular order? I mean, if you knew you had a (say) grenadine tie in a particular colour/pattern, would you know exactly where it should be or would you have to search around?
