1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

    I see it like music.

On the one hand you're going to have people who are naturally talented like Hendrix, who never needed to touch a book on music theory.

On the other, you have Robert Fripp who knew the theory inside out.

Both had a knack for what they did.

For the majority though doing some reading can't hurt. At very least you'll end up with a nice item for the bookshelf.

Had a look on Amazon at this looks a bit dated 1996, and heavily focused on sociology from the review there. Anything this century you know of in the same vein?

There are many Robert Fripp which one are you talking about the post punk Fripp of Exposure or the League of Gentlemen Fripp or Fripp & Eno. Or maybe the Fripp of the League of Crafty Guitarists? Or some other Robert Fripp?

I now find those King Crimson Vinyl albums I was given and never listened to and have stacked in boxes are worth a small amount of money.
Small mercies I guess. No accounting for taste.

I'd better cash in before the hipsters grow up

Its a funny old world isn't it.

If anyone wants Flusser's "dressing the man" just let me know I've got a copy I've read and don't particularly want anymore.

Hasnostyle got in first, but I'm sure he'd be happy to pass/post it on. Alternatively I can post to you and you to him. I'm not really fussed.

In the spirit of charity started by LonerMatt, if anyone wants a copy of manton's The Suit, I've also got a copy that I'll send over for the price of shipping it.

(Also, I've got a wicked Barbour jacket FS in my sig, heh heh. :embar: )
