Michael Sy, which one is you? Identify yourself!
No surprise, after all he IS your hero.
Let's not go overboard here. Maybe just start with the shower and ease into the rest? Coincidentally, this is exactly how I dress for the SF drinking sessions.
Here are some photos of today's outfit (apologies for the fuzziness of one of the photos):
- Mid-grey, sharkskin suit by Deer Style Brisbane;
- Borrelli shirt;
- Brooks Brothers braces;
- Marinella tie;
- Kent Wang white linen pocket square; and
- Chocolate brown Zegna "fatte a Mano" plain captor balmorals.
That is the casual friday look I was making reference to.
This is some good advice: http://putthison.com/post/283365444/businesscasual
Interesting BLOG there MS, I might just read the article on Django Unchained, Tarrantino's latest - lm hanging for it!
What industry are you in mate?
I think our sentiments are aligned. The workplace where I have been working over the last few months, very few people where a tie, let a lone a pocket square. Almost everyone, including partners, where jeans on casual Friday. Quite a few people wear polos. I think they can look quite sharp, especially when tucked in.
It is scary when someone says you won't progress in life because you wear a polo to casual friday.
DB: It isn't my blog - I google imaged 'Chinos and Polo', that is what came up. I didn't actually read any of the text surrounding the picture . I don't work in I.T, but within the financial services sector.
Mate wear what you want if it's a casual workplace, I just feel polos are too close to weekend wear and I don't really feel I'm in that work mindset if I'm wearing them. Though honestly I rarely wear them on the weekend either.
Not sure if you are saying you like the look on that blog or are trying to avoid it, but my initial impression are he looks like he's going to play golf. Nothing wrong with that, I'm a single figure golfer and love the game, I just don't want to look like it when I'm at work.
I wouldn't think so, as my Investigative Journalism tells me that you would be a "Dad. Architect. Writer. Entrepreneur" and that you live in LA!
Financial services nice : )
4 months on and I'm still looking for longwing derbys (like these http://blog.leffot.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dsc_00321.jpg). Life is getting harder by the day.
Yep, 0/4 on that one . Half of Australia works in financial services, I didn't want to be too revealing.
How about you?
I can see what you are saying. They certainly have a sporty flavour to them. LonerMatt was feeling that his Sunspel Polos made him feel 'Daddy', probably not a look you want to sport around the office. Personally, I think some short sleeve polos can look quite crisp.
Alden long wings in cigar shell cordovan? They shouldn't be too hard to find, should they?
Of course, you'll have to order them from the US as no-one in Australia stocks Alden.
All is good except for point numero uno.
I'm a Jeweller
