Anyone else interested in anything from Epautlet over in the US? Thinking about trying their chinos for some variety in my casual trousers, and might as well split shipping if anyone else is keen.

Them's the ones. Maybe some of the factory finds too, if I'm quick enough.

Wow, I usually don't feel inclined to comment on a wallet/card holder but thats damn nice, tip of the hat for picking that one up. Does the ebay seller you purchased that off have any others going or was that a one off?

Is there anything that doesnt look good in Cordovan, sure doesn't seem like it.

I wont mention price but the ebay seller had it marked at about 33% of the Brooks Brothers original price.
Yeh I am very happy with that pickup
At the time I was looking at this he had a few items listed but cant really remember, I looked recently to see what he was selling and there was nothing in his for sale list the fleabayer was newrisingsun2012 he is in east coast USA

Oh and he was a real Gentlemen to deal with.

Ahh Sunday night ironing... Made only slightly more palatable by the presence of the cricket.

Black polished is corrected grain. CG leather can be used to make up for worse leather an is generally though of as a less elegant choice. To be entirely truthful I'd steer clear.

The rest of your question is a touch vague, but I'd go the 2nd shoe if I had to chose.

New shoes (sort-of)! My bedroom slippers have well and truly bought it so today I bought some red fake denim-y espadrilles from Target. Not bad for $10 [IMG]

Not sure what last they're on ...

Corrected grain has its place. FXH wrote a nice piece not too long back on its merits, but for mine, I want nothing to do with it. I think it's inelegant at best, and feral at worst. If high shine is required, I'd hope to invest sufficient time and effort to bring a gloss finish to calf, or earn enough to pay someone to do it. Otherwise, I like calf a lot more. If wet weather is a concern, then cordovan or a waxed calf is always a sound option.
