1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

The first coup failed didn't it?

I'm not sure how its viewed over there but I've always seen the single strap plain black monk as a fairly conservative formal shoe.

    It's Sir Mark Thatcher.

I always wondered why... and the reliable Wiki came up with the answer.

It appears that Denis Thatcher of G&T fame was made a baronet shortly after Baroness Thatcher was given a life peerage.

He was the first guy to be made a baronet since the 1950s so he was granted a hereditary peerage which on his death passed to (now Sir) Mark.

For those who may be fascinated by such things.

For the first time in history an Australian born person was recently made an officer in the Coldstream Guards which is 350 years old and the oldest serving regiment in the British Army.

Yes, didn't even get off the ground.

I prefer single to double monks.

Although I don't own any of either.

Interesting that Tony Blair in in a navy suit with a black twill(?) tie while most of the other men were in morning dress(?) or black suits.

Mourning dress suit is different from Morning Suit. (Well some somber Morning suits could double)

I suspect Blair's suit is a careful statement about Labour vs Tory plus an acknowledgement of the fact that hes out of office. See Gordon Brown too. But Ed Miliband frocked up.
So hard to decode the subtle class/status signals of these Poms.

I think the blue suit was acknowledgement that he is a closet Tory.

Thatcher did give birth to New Labour after all.

I think it'd be odd to wear mourning/morning dress to a funeral in Australia, unless it was a former Prime Minister/GG.

Na mate, I prefer someone a little more vocal.........like Katherine Jenkins. Wouldn't mind hearing her high notes.

I think you'd be a great match for Fergusson, the Dutchess of York. Seeing as you have a feti...fascination for Brogues/feet/toes. You wouldn't be punching above your weight, either.

I can't believe same-sex marriage isn't legal in this country. That it's debated, that it's an "issue".

    You'll have to ask them.

So long as you have your hand on a file note :D

    :'(

Edit: Damn I wanna bang Amanda Thatcher. What is it with right wing chicks and being smoking hot?
