1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I was originally going to go to the green but thought that the grey would go well with more of my trousers than the green would.

Gez, out of curiousity, what's the current count of shoes you own? 200?

Hats...I find they are quite difficult to wear in any smart outfit without looking costumey or if you are under 50. I remember seeing a very well dressed chap on George Street in Edinburgh when I was back in July. He was about 75 and sporting a beautiful fedora. My wife told me once I got to 75 (I am 29 just now) could start wearing hats like that. I have a beautiful Panama hat which I bought from City Hatters the year I arrived (2008), it is wearing in very nicely but I only wear it to "events" (polo, racing) or on holiday. Saying that I had a great time in a hat shop in Adelaide recently trying on fezs, bowlers and pith helmets.

I thought Simon Crompton of Permanent Style looked great in his hat from Lock and Co at Pitti (winter time though so not really an answer to your question).

Robert Rabensteiner looks great in his unstructured hat.

And Alain Delon looks great in the film Borsalino

Can we share?! Not sure what colour I am thinking of...grey appeals, as does navy or snuff (what colours are there)?

Was actually going to go back and pull out GN's post for a year or so ago where he claimed he had all the shoes he needs...I guess he has bought 10 pairs since then? (I am just jealous).

Also, does thought I might share these photographs from shoemakersofmelbourne.com There is a lot of skinny jeans and curled up toes but amid that are a few standouts including our own Mr Nice Guys Gerry Nelson and thebrownman, and Christian Kimber in his eponymous footwear.

    Looking good JM!
Sorry for stinking up this page but just wondering if you guys give your il bisonte wallets any care? E.g. I've had mine for just over a month and am wondering if I should be worried as the 'foldy-bit' of my bill fold looks like it's had a bit of shit rubbed all over it (its got browny bits on the grain); or is natural leather supposed to be treated tough like raw denim?

I think we'll need to put that shoe collective in place, PS.

Regarding shoes, I did have all the shoes I needed then - I just have more than I need now [IMG]

Do we really want to expand this and start going through how many of each item people have?

Exactly. No, I do not think wardrobe list are the way to go (too much writing and reading) but the shoe collective is a great idea.

Looking forward to seeing Christian's shoes next week. What were the colour choices?

On behalf of the sunset strip it certainly won't be an expansive list : ) More importantly I was wondering who on this thread has their suit pants cuffed? If so 2 inch or so? Thank you

What is with all the hate on traditional Australian dress eg RMW, Akubras? they're high quality, practical and available - I wouldn't look twice at someone wearing a Cattleman on a 40 degree day.

    Rob,

I got a 32 in the SL. Cos of my hips (they don't lie). I didn't size down/vanity size the 3-sixteens.

Brought it to an alteration place to slim the leg from the knee down.

For reference, I was a 30 in APC NS.

Just a question is Amfony Mundine the biggest knucklehead in Australian sport? Even by his standards the recent fight build up and losing debacle is hard to beat.

My son graduated recently with an Hons Bachelors in Visual Arts from Sydney. He is an artist at 23 and has had a couple of exhibitions. As someone who is cynical of modern university standards I am pleasurably surprised at his in-depth knowledge of his subject and the obvious quality of his instruction.
